I bought it and I dont think I’ve used it more than twice.
I’ll buy the next one too.

There is only one store mount I have ever wanted, and if I’m not going to pay for that, I’m not going to go around paying three times as much for a mount I couldn’t care less about.
Is 5% a high number? Not in terms of “95% didn’t buy it”, but in terms of “probably took 1 hour to make and put into the game” I think it’s safe to assume it was very profitable for Blizzard.
Now, if they could take some of that and make it so that ppl stop mounting on top of mailboxes, that would be nice.
(still not buying it though)
I’m an avid mount collector and would have loved to buy it … actually I would’ve loved the original but didn’t know about it until it was too late … but I can’t afford £60 for a mount and I’m sure many other players can’t either.
yep very very expensive .if it was around 30 euros i might have considered . the price tag is almost equal to 6 months wow sub
Impactful in what way?
yes that is when it leaves
I have always farmed in small batches since the collections came in. I have a friend who will just go at the content on all his alts until he gets them. I don’t find that kind of gameplay fun.
My current batch is Sylv Mount (and the Horse mount from 3rd Boss), Jailer Mount, Nya Mount and then if I feel like it I do the DF raids on mythic for their appearances for the drakes.
I’m pretty sure Blizzard accountants see it as a success.
I wouldn’t be so sure about that.
I mean, the retail playerbase is dwindling, so if you have an expensive mount you can sell to 5% of your playerbase, then it’s 5% of what? 5% of 12 million is a lot more than 5% of half a million.
And I’m pretty sure Blizzard were hoping that those 5% would be a lot more than it has ended up being.
Basically, there’s no way that the sales targets for The War Within have been met. And that subsequently means that every sale related to The War Within takes a hit.
Gilded brutosaur was immediately something I knew I wanted to buy. It became my early Xmas gift, and one I actually can utilize happily.
The master of fake news and tbh OP what does it matter how many were sold?
I keep forgetting to buy it, which shows how much I really don’t need it.
It is a chore to play WoW, which probably also has something to do with it.
I personally didn’t buy one because i already have original brutosaur and as a eng and having a toy mail i’m not needing another brutosaur mount
it’s not worth the money to me
Whats the problem? You like the mount buy it, if not dont buy it.
If you were blizzard you would have done the same or maybe you are a girl or guy that does everything for free and spend all your sparetime doing noble deeds. You would have done the same, end if the crying now.
How it matters is long term.
If so many are willing to buy a 90 euro mount , imagine bringing out 150-200 euro mount.
It’s testing waters to see how many shill out.
Store mounts , impact of quality of obtainable mounts in game. Arguably the most original and " good " looking mounts in the last 6 years have been store exclusives.
I am still genuinely impressed that the trading post wasn’t made into a " battle pass post"
with housing on it’s way , just imagine all the store exclusive customisation for your new abode.
Will we ever see 100 euro lampshade ?
Real money transactions Or RMt , impact token sales. Thus the wow enconomy as a whole. Expensive store items , means more tokens need to be bought. More gold is required. Prices go up.
Wether you buy stuff from the store or not , it will impact you in game in terms of consumables and materials.
What’s fake news about it?
I mean, Bellular (and others, he’s not unique here) basically get their numbers from Data for Azeroth
And that place basically gets its data from Blizzard’s API, which for the purposes we’re using it, is accurate enough.
And what Bellular (and anyone who wants to) does, is to basically deduct population size from various points of data.
And again, that deduction is accurate enough for the purposes we’re using it for.
So it’s 6% if you look. That is not a fake news number. That is the number based on the number of accounts (which only includes recently-active accounts) which is ~1 million. Of those ~1 million there’s ~500.000 that have achievements that would qualify them as having purchased The War Within.
So that’s what it is. There’s no fake news here.
Retail WoW has ~1 million recently-active accounts. And it has ~500.000 accounts that own The War Within.
And of those ~1 million accounts, 6% have bought the Brutosaur mount, because that’s how many accounts own it. So that’s 50.000 sold. For $90 each (dismissing Token sales) it comes out at $4.5 million for Blizzard.
That’s not totally precise or anything, but that’s the ballpark of numbers we’re looking at. And that’s pretty undisputable.
Edit: And if we make an assumption and say that those ~1 million recently-active are currently inactive and only look at the ~500.000 recently-active accounts that also own The War Within, then the sales would be halved, so 25.000 sold for a total of $2.25 million.
The inaccuracy here is of course that we don’t know how many of the ~1 million or ~500.000 accounts are currently active. Some probably unsubscribed yesterday, for example.
seems im not gona be able to get this, not going to be able to afford the bundle the bruto christmas stuff and making it to the end of jan…
The price was a little too steep… Just to save me a trip to the auction house is all.
They did in BFA the ship long sailed.
i say the glad and mythic mounts are better.
They only move gold from player A to player B.
You can still purchase it with gold. 2.4 million isn’t very obtainable in 30 days.
