What would be the most profitable? Hammer, sword or axe smith? Or does it depend on the server? I’m just losing my mind, I think it’s better to distribute roles with guildies … not really sure maybe some specializations are worthless?
Edit: Ops this should have been posted in the professions subsection.
Hard to say really. Axesmith gives you access to Arcanite Reaper, Nightfall and Annihilator; but they’re mostly niché items; iconic though they may be.
Sword specialization currently isn’t worth much, but it will be once Sageblade is available.

That weapon will have a much higher demand than any of the axes; given that guilds will all have their own Nightfall crafters anyway. The only market for Nightfall will be that one special snowflake that wants to make his/her “enhancemant unbreakablesssss dpssssss!!!” work.
Thanks for the input. Seems I’ll be going with axes as other feedback has suggested. At this stage I’m starting to have regrets … maybe armor spec would have been a better choice but I moved away from it since it requires rare recipes. I guess non of them is “great” anyway (unless armorsmith + rare recipe).
I look at it this way; you said you wanted profit. Axesmith offers only niche items that dont have high demand.
Armoursmith offers Titanic Legs and Lionheart helm; items with high demand. Because of that, those two will be the most common smiths; the people you’ll have to compete with.
Sword and Macesmith however, are usually overlooked. They’ll be far more newly-created casters looking for a Sageblade in the near future than their will shamans/paladins trying to get a NF to pretend their useful.
Arcanite Reaper isn’t worth the amount of Arcanite Bars required, and will soon be worthless. And Annihilator is only decent for an Orc tank; making it useless on Alliance.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking about, go with the “less competition” spec. Frankly, as long as the difference isn’t that horrible I’m fine, I just wanna avoid any horrible ones if they exist.
Complete bs (not blacksmith). If you don’t have full stack of sunders/annihilator/cor/crystal_yield on the boss, your RL is retard.
And sageblade gonna be vendored by any caster once he obtains the azuresong
Yeah, because every caster is going to easily get a Azuresong? One drops; how much competition? A lot.
A lot of casters will be using their sageblade for a fairly long time; making it definitely worth the price they pay for it.
Min/maxing is not required. Annihilator has a good proc, but it’s far from mandatory and it will be thrown away pretty quickly for tanks. There really wont be much competition for tank weapons, unlike the Azuresong that will have 14 or more people rolling on it.
I did MC most weeks for 6 months back in the day and never saw it drop! On top of that we had 8 mages and 3 warlocks. . If that is your argument then I imagine there will be some use for the blade.
