There was a thread opened but no GM answered, is this a bug or normal? it is told water walk doesnt work with mount as well but i didnt try it myself yet. If this is normal its absurd since its a useless spell
GM’s do not answer threads on the forums in general. If you encounter a bug you’ll have to report it through the ingame bug report option.
In this case, waterwalking with mount was added in patch 3.0.3 so not a bug. In Classics, we didn’t had it yet so it is pretty true to the original game in that sense.
You can ask another shaman to use it on you while you’re in ghost wolf form.

you can escape by the water, and chase by the water
well if i was certain that it was bug i would report ingame but since its unknown it would be nice if a GM cleared this
GM’s don’t work on the forums, generally if there’s a large scale issue or other Blizzard may make support pages instead. You’re always welcome to submit suggestions or bugs you suspect through the ingame panel.
I recommend asking for another shaman to give you waterwalking after or before you mount up to see if that works instead as the poster above my latest reply suggested.
i don’t think it ever worked with mount (this appears only in Wotlk with DKs), the only way to go faster when you walk on water is to have a hunter that use aspect with you or use speed potion, ghostwolf form should work too
