[Bug] Unable to trigger Hall of Fame achievement

I am an officer in the guild Deception on Silvermoon (EU).
Our guild has multiple raid teams, and I am representing the main progress team “Red”.
We have recently had trouble triggering the Hall of Fame (HoF) achievement after the recent hotfixes.
Below is a timeline of our mythic boss kills, which should meet the criteria for triggering the HoF achievement:

  • 07/04 - (HoF still updating) We killed Mythic One-armed Bandit for the first time.

  • 16/04 - (HoF still updating) We killed Mythic Mug’zee for the first time.

  • 21/04 - (HoF disabled for hot-fix) We killed Mythic Gallywix for the first time.

  • 22/04 - Blizzard released a post explaining that guilds who killed Gallywix while HoF was disabled would need to rekill Bandit and Mug’zee for HoF credit.

  • 23/04 - (HoF updating again) We killed Mythic Bandit for our second time.

  • 24/04 - (HoF updating again) We killed Mythic Mug’zee for our second time.

At this point, we have not been awarded the HoF achievement, despite having met all the stated criteria.

Other guilds on the server, such as Phoenix and Winters Heart, immediately received HoF credit after killing Mug’zee for their second time.

As shown in our Guild Armory page, Warcraft Logs, and in-game achievements, we have legitimately killed (and re-killed) all the required bosses in the correct order, yet HoF is still not being attributed.

We have opened in-game tickets to resolve this, and were advised to make a forum post to help bring more visibility to the issue.

We’re currently seeking any solution or clarity to ensure our team is properly credited with the HoF achievement they worked hard to earn.

(This initially had links to all relevant logs and guild pages, but it appears the forum does not allow them to be posted - they can be found on Warcraft Log page, and Armory, etc.)

After making a ticket the response given by GM is that there could be a delay, this doesn’t seem to be the case since other guilds are getting it instantly.

Other raid leaders are suggesting it’s because we’re a multi-team guild, would be great to get some clarification on the situation

For Clarity - everyone who was in for both the initial kills, and the subsequent rekills was a member of the guild.

The Guild leader has not been changed during this period.
The Guild leader has not race-changed or faction-swapped during this period.

I logged an in-game ticket about this issue.
The game master suggested that there could just be a delay on the achievement.
This doesn’t match the experience other guilds had, where they got credit right after killing the required bosses.
It has now been over 12 hours since we killed Mug’zee and we still haven’t had the achievement awarded.

We’ve the same bug, as of today we’ve killed the last 3 bosses two times and no hall of fame achievement.
Insanity-Sanguino. We’ve all the logs and you can search in the armory aswell.

While I appreciate it has been the weekend, we have yet to receive any tangible communication on this, with the exception of extremely generic/copy-and-paste solutions from customer support game-masters responding to our ingame tickets.

This forum post has now made the rounds; it has been cross-posted to the American forums, shared in various class and raid leader discords, and even featured in a Wowhead article concerning the Hall of Fame – but we are yet to hear anything from Blizzard as to whether this is known issue, if we have met the required criteria, if there will be a fix for this coming in the future, or if our Hall of Fame spot will be secured if this does not get resolved before HoF closes.

We are currently stuck in limbo.

Tonight we raid again, and we are hoping that killing Mythic Gallywix for a second time will simply resolve this issue (This will mean that we killed the final three mythic bosses in a single lockout).

The communication from Blizzard in regards to the Hall of Fame has been laughable.
Disabling the HoF without statement, implementing a breaking fix mid-season, and failing to ensure that re-kills would actually trigger this “fix”.

This doesn’t even begin to cover all the raid teams that can not, or will not be able to reclear the required bossed before the HoF closes; members being on holiday, leaving for other teams, taking a break after a tier, etc. will lead to multiple teams who legitimately achieved HoF not getting the credit or rewards they deserve.

As far as anyone is aware, all of this has been done in order to prevent 2-3 teams who skipped Bandit and/or Mug’zee from getting Hall of Fame. Why was this “fix” chosen over simply removing the offending parties manually from HoF on season end?

HoF requirement has always been “Kill the final boss on mythic difficulty”. Perhaps instead of disabling achievements, locking multiple legitimate teams out of HoF, and failing to communicate any actions you are taking, Blizzard could have simply admitted that the tuning of the final boss was lack-luster, and that HoF criteria would be rectified next tier?

Moving the goal-posts mid-season to punish 2-3 teams (who are playing by your own HoF rules), all while screwing over multiple legitimate teams, is the most backwards logic and decision making you could have made.

Same thing happend to us, Veneration-Antonidas, we killed Gallywix w140 and didnt get our achievement not even on the 2nd full clear, this issue becomes increasingly urgent now that hall of fame is almost full at 195 spots filled

For those following along.
Today we got awarded our Hall of Fame achievement while we were raiding.
After a wipe on Gallywix the HoF achievement triggered and we ended up at rank 194 on the leader board.

It appears Blizzard is triggering the achievement for some number of guilds. Many Asian guilds have been added to the leader board at the position they would have been in upon killing Gallywix, but it appears most EU//NA guilds are just being added randomly to the HoF with no concern with when their kill initially took place.

Hopefully Blizzard manually reorders the HoF to match more closely the ranks teams achieved.

In the guild tab, our HoF achievement “kill roster” for Gallywix contains only a single player, who is not a member of the raid team. It appears they killed Mythic Fyrakk at the same time the achievement was awarded to us.

Whether killing Fyrakk was the catalyst to triggering the achievement, or the achievement was manually awarded and that player’s name was picked randomly out of the ether I cannot say – but I would hope Blizzard will update our achievement to include the actual players who killed the boss.

I am leaving this post unresolved, as there many eyes on it currently, and other teams using it to raise awareness of issues with their own HoF achievements.

Thank you to everyone who followed along, spread word of our issue, cross posted this to other forums/discords/Wowhead, and generally had our back and supported us during this time.

Blizzard, you have a real issue with communication.
You are a billion dollar company - hire just one guy to talk on the forums and keep people in the know.
At any point during this fiasco just knowing what was going on, or what the intended plan was would have saved many teams a lot of time of stress.

Hey,

Our developers have created a post with more information on this issue. Please note that Customer Support will be unable to provide the HoF achievement.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused.

How is that possible? Custom Support manually awarded approximately 20 achievements yesterday evening. Why are you now claiming that it is impossible?

They don’t wanna give the wrong guild the achievement again xd

Your guild did get the achievement, though, no? Yesterday night. I see it in your armory.

Where did you see that exactly?

ye not my guild but a guild by the name of Wait For it on Ysondre got mistakenly given the hall of fame achievement even though it was the actual guild “Waít For It” also on ysondre was the guild that actually killed it. can click the guild on hall of fame and see it is not the correct guild

On the official HoF webpage - https://worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com/en-us/game/hall-of-fame/mythic-raid/liberation-of-undermine

Positions between 175 and 195. Look at the timestamps and cross-check them with the actual kill dates from the armory. It’s evident they were manually granted. The hilarious part is that the very same guild this topic is about - Deception - has been manually granted the Hof achievement as well, before you even said it’s impossible.

My guild - Mental Exiles - is in the very same situation, and we have not been granted the achievement despite numerous tickets and being eligible for it. Can we please get a clear picture of the rules under which these manual achievements have been granted?

If the Hall of Fame achievement was granted to some guilds, that would eventually be on the developers’ side, and not on Customer Support. If this happened, I’m afraid that we wouldn’t have any visibility on what the possible criteria would be.

Whatever the case may be, game masters will not be able to provide the achievement to a guild, as we do not have the ability to do so to begin with.

Could you please let me know whom I can contact to discuss this matter? What is the “chain of command?” In-game tickets sent me here, now you are saying this is not the right place. If you cannot fix the achievements for us, I get it, but I kindly ask that you at least put us in contact with someone who can. As for now, we are only being redirected from one place to another with a response “we cannot do it”, yet someone does it.

The correct solution would be to kill these bosses again, as mentioned by our developers in the link above.

I’ll try to see if I can find more information, but I can’t make any promises, as this is outside of our control. Once again, please note that customer support cannot grant these achievements, and creating a ticket for it will not result in the achievement being granted to a guild.

I’m sorry, but that does not necessarily help me. Our raiders left for vacation after the Gallyiwx kill, and we don’t have a roster for rekill until mid-May. Are you telling me now that we will lose the legitimately earned Hall of Fame we worked hard to get, only because of a bug which makes us rekill the bosses, which has never been the case in the past? I’ve shown pieces of evidence about guilds getting it assigned manually. Could you please point me to where I could inquire about this?

As for the the guild that got HoF by a typo, there is more information - https://worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com/en-us/guild/eu/ysondre/wait-for-it/ - a guild whit one player which is not even at max level has HoF achievement granted manually. There is a way, I’m just not sure who I should report it to.
