Sorry if this wrong way to go about this but I couldn’t find where else to ask. So a friend of mine has quit playing wow for good and has amassed a large amount of gold but before he traded it to me his sub had run out, would it be classed as RMT if I paid for his sub so he could give it to me?
No. technically he is giving you his gold, while you are giving him a subscription In real life. thats just gifting and/or friends helping each other out, they dont have to be related unless you explicitly state that they are. But theres nothing scetchy about giving each other gold and helping a friend pay for a subscription.
seeing as how i got banned for trading gold from my wow1 to wow2 acc… i would be careful to do any gold trades these days. and sadly support tickets will not help as i got over 10 tickets cancelled without a reply so far.
Transferring large amounts of gold with nothing in return makes Blizzard flag your account for buying gold.
The difference between “buying” and “giving” in this case makes no difference, it will look like your friend is buying gametime for gold to Blizzard and that swings the banhammer hard.
Only trade small chunks of gold for small items otherwise big gold exchanging hands = UH OH BOTTER in blizzards nevermind you get the picture
Post green items for randomly high prices, He buys them out. You loose 5% of cash earned but hey, 95% of anything is better than 100% of nothing.
I hope ppl realize they are giving instructions to shady characters on how to evade Blizzard’s detection systems.
Ιf you rly blv what the gnome OP says, I got a statue in NY harbor to sell you.
Not much, its on ever since bots arrived and irl money gold trade is a thing.
I hope you realize many innocent players have been banned for “buying gold” or “botting” even when they’ve done neither of those things.
These “strong systems” Blizzard have in place are atrocious and in dire need of upgrading as banning even 1 player unfairly is horrible.
Imagine if it was you who got banned for something you havn’t done
Don’t listen to the advices here as they are indeed shady.
The Gold in this game is yours and you can do whatever you want with it as long as you don’t sell it.
Even if you’ll get flagged I wouldn’t worry about it that much. You are not the only one making this kind of things.
Obviously no one wants to be in the position of arguing with Blizzard so neccessary precaution must be taken.
If I were you I would make the the transaction in 1 trade whatever the size. This shows you have nothing to hide and you don’t.
How on Earth you can explain that a friend gave u his gold in 10 trades not 1 or by AH weird purchases?!
Or
And that’s if you are the overly cautious type you can ask your friend to buy you stuff from AH and give that to you.
Or
You can open a ticket specifying what you intend to do for more credibility.
Like I said, this type of things happens all the time, people quit either permanently or temporary and hand out their gold to friends and some hefty amounts too.
Your friend will have to hand out crazy amounts of gold weekly before being considered a gold seller.
300g got a YouTuber banned. Trading between his own accounts.
i hate to break the news to you, but you’ll likely never see a single piece of that gold he owes you.
seems awfully convenient that his game time ran out just as he was about to give you the gold… there’s a reason for that, you know. he doesn’t intend to give it to you.
He can ask Blizzard for a free day to sort out his stuff before he quits for good. It’s done via a ticket.
Then again how well do you know this person?
