Buying wrong items from AH

Hi guys, so basically i bought a stack of Rune cloth from the AH at Firemaw server to complete my Tailoring, but by mistake i bought a runecloth that has been listed for 975gold… which i had to save for my level 60 mount can someone help me please? what can i do… please…

I’d say there is not much you can do except for solo-grinding some instances where you can make 100+ gold per hour, especially as a mage.

Next time, keep an eye on the price items are sold for or use an addon that lists items ascending by its price.

so there isnt any way blizzard can help me?

Nope, never heard of GMs helping out here on anything like that before.

well rip my gold i guess…

It is for sure annoying, but it is also just virtual gold, not the end of the world.

As mentioned, go and solo-grind some dungeons and you will pretty quickly have your gold back. Just watch some YT videos where people always report how much gold they make per hour and just copy and adept their strategy.

Readvertise it for more gold and hope there’s another sucker out there?

Sorry

but people use that method to buy gold through AH… is there a possible way from blizzard to track ?

it’s said that a fool and his money are easily parted. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

pay closer attention when buying from the AH in future is really all you can take from this.

…but damn to be that guy and open the mailbox and see your crazy runecloth stack actually sold lol

Make a ticket in game and find out.

i did, but waiting for them to answer… Average waiting time: 10 DAYS.

It sucks, but not much you can do except wait for Blizzard to reply. My guess is they also won’t do anything.

If he didn’t complete his tailoring yet (and thus no Archmage robe) chances are his gear isn’t good enough to do the ZF farm or anything else relevant. I’d say best chance is contacting the guy who put up the runecloth for 900g and beg for mercy. If the guy is a good person he’ll give your gold back. Unfortunately there are some real scumbags in this game though.

You would never get your gold back no matter what. If you get scammed a GM may punish the scammer and take the gold/items away but they never give it back to you (I read this in a blue post somewhere).

In this situation it’s not a scam. People are free to buy and sell things in AH at any price.

I feel sorry for you ofc, it sux.

All sales are final and Blizzard will not do anything.

Please close your ticket, you will not get your gold back, you are only lengthening the queue for others.

It a harsh lesson isn’t it when this happens, people do this to take advantage of those who don’t bother to look and just buy the first item in the list when sorted by bid price. Next time you will look at the buyout price.

AHAHAHAHAH

LMAO

absolute goofball

and bro you only need 800 ish gold, get sergeant rank and the honored rep with your guys will just be done already by 60, that’s two 10% discounts

the sergeant rank is pathetically easy to get, it’s like 9k honor total from start (0) or some nonsense

ye u probs arent getting that gold back, if you know who it was, probs message them and beg them for some of the gold back and that’s about it.

Now you have learnt a valuable lesson and wont buy scams again lol

Can also grind AV exalted and get it way cheaper

unfortunately there is nothing you can do.
i once sold a 170g item for 14g (accidentally, thought i was selling another item and weren’t paying attention to what i was doing).

how this happened? i mean i could have just cancelled the auction right?
nope, auction bot sniped it before the “auction created” text even popped up in the chat and blizzard told me i’d just have to deal with it and be more careful.

so there’s probably not much to be done in your case, i’m afraid.

It was very easy in Vanilla too, even I got that rank.
