Can I play Horde and Alliance on the same cluster?

I’m planning on playing on the Firemaw PvP cluster. Not sure whether I want to go Horde or Alliance, but I’d like to do both.

Now, of course you can’t create characters from both factions on the same realm, but is it possible for me to create for instance a Alliance character on Firemaw and an Horde on… Uh, say Ashbringer, even if they come under the same cluster? And if so, does it basically functions like characters from both factions on the same realm?

Thanks in advance!

Yes it’s possible. Only limit is the same realm (so no Firemaw ally and firemaw Horde) it doesn’t take clusters into account.

It has been removed when they opened transfers from som. Only on Firemaw you can have chat from both factions.

Yes you can, and you can do so easily.

Create your Horde or Alliance toons on Firemaw directly, then create some Horde or Alliance characters on Gehennas, Venoxis etc (another cluster). Use the free character transfer to migrate your characters to Firemaw.

This will let you have both Horde and Alliance on the same realm (Firemaw). Alternatively you can use a connected server like Noggenfogger or Mograine if you dont mind switching realm in the realm menu each time you want to play the other faction.

It’s possible to have both faction only on Firemaw because it was the destination from the Transfers from SoM

yeah however if you dont have a SOM character you can still go another Era PvP cluster create a toon and transfer it to Firemaw for free so this ‘loophole’ to create both factions on the same server will remain possible.

Additionally, we’ll soon be removing the restriction from Classic Era realms that prevents players from having both Horde and Alliance characters on the same PvP realm. This should make it easier to consolidate your characters in the same place on Classic Era, should you choose to move your SoM characters there. We know many Classic Era players have gathered on realms such as Whitemane and Mankrik in the Americas or Firemaw and Pyrewood Village in EU, and due to that consolidation, this change seems appropriate.`

You can do it even without a transfered character from what i know. But it’s kinda vague.

Doesnt let me do it the traditional way :frowning: I think they forgot to lift it for creation.

Sadge :tired_face::tired_face::tired_face::tired_face::tired_face:

But why do you want to have both Alliance and Horde characters on the same realm? You cannot send mail to the opposite faction.

Y, was working when transferring from SOM, now it does not work anymore as realms are “full” when trying to access them.

This means a lot of people who did manage to transfer them over have both Ally/Horde on the same realm. I’m pretty sure this is not intended and the players who did manage to pull this off are lucky i guess.

@Azenel - it’s not about that at all. You are clearly missing the actual point in this.

you can do this using another pvp cluster. I just tested and moved a character for free from Sulfuron-ERA Alliance to Firemaw-ERA Alliance but I have this Horde toon there also.
