It’s getting rediculous and blatantly obvious for over 2 years now, leaked from Classic Era now towards Classic Anniversary aswell that these iranian rats forming a mafia crew to disallow anyone else boosting maraudon other than their own, by making Rogues, Warlocks, Druids and Priests to harrass mages from the opposing faction so no-one else can properly play this dungeon (they control both factions in this way, having said classes on both factions)
Very simple solution is to make Desolace a neutral zone
And don’t give me that ‘‘oh its a pvp server’’ bull&^$* because this isn’t pvp, this is 5vs1 with pvp specced classes that specifically spec to kill mages (dagger rogues, improved counterspell mages, felhunter warlocks with soul link, etc).
It’s a place where you need to be out of combat to make the portal with the scepter to get into maraudon’s princess side, and you simple can’t because of warlocks standing there with pets on aggressive and rogues ready to stab you, even when you accept the ress (warlock pet is insantly putting you in combat).
And no-one should be bullied away to a pve server like this when its clearly a business going on over there with creatures that sit there 24/7 taking shifts to control the area, when you (Blizzard) can fix this by making the entire zone Neutral.
I remember the old Blizzard not even allowing countries like Iran on EU servers because of this kind of bull*&%^…
I cant understand why blizzard isnt acting against this. The game, players and the interests has changed since 20 years ago. Like you said, it isnt PvP, its straight out harrassment and I cant even enter mara as a mage just to be in there on my own.
No one can be so one-eyed and just accept this as “part of the game”.
As a side note I dont think the entire desolace zone need to be neutral, not even all of mara, but at least make the areas around instance portals neutral so all players have a chance to enter
There’s no “fair” pvp in the world. Every pvp is unfair. No reason to make exceptions for mara. You can enter through any of two portals by death running.
These creatures from iran making a living off of doing this by controlling the market over there isn’t enough reason to stop it(RMT against ToS)? Apart from the fact they make it unplayable for anyone who enters that area because they’re too greedy to share, in the way where they create the situation as it is right now?
They have been doing this for over 2 years and are very trained into griefing mages or anyone that wants to farm something in Maraudon, and they will keep doing this in any further Fresh Classic release if not stopped, and it’s easily stopped, by making the place Neutral, or by not allowing Iran to play on EU servers, nobody wants them here anyway because they don’t communicate and only play for 1 reason - RMT.
Maraudon is the only place that can be controlled like this because there is nowhere to go, with very narrow corners, unable to mount up, and most of all the out-of-combat requirement to enter Princess side.
These Iranians are evil and must be stopped and this is how, it will be good for everyone exept these evil bastards that ruin it.
Even more simpler solution: Make XP gains with high levels in groups diminish to a minimum, like it was on SOM. No more boosting.
If people want to do Mauradon then play it as it was intended.
Ever since I rolled on PvE for Anniversary, I find it extremely hard to empathise with the PvP problems. Reroll on normal server with normal players, you are on sociopath server being plagued by sociopaths of your own volition.
I find the situation similar to free market.
In a vacuum, it’s a really nice idea. Except it’s been quickly discovered that it has many conditions, which require active interventions.
In other words, free market is a bad idea. Controlled free-like market is good.
Same with PvP.
Duels? Fun.
Objective focused battlegrounds? Fun. (As opposed to GY camping.)
RP-like battles in random locations? Fun.
Random death by rogue waiting at quest objective? Nope.
Ganging up on said rogue by the PvP police? Fun I guess.
(One could argue, punishing boosting is policing, therefore fun and just.)
Someone had this statement: freedom to do whatever you want is bad, freedom from harassment is good.
PvP games only work when there is active supervision.
By the way, what would you say if it turned out that all of those campers are Blizzard bots, only targeting boosters? Virtual policemen?
Second, while I may personally hate the idea of people disrupting other’s play through constant ganking, that’s what people signed up for when they chose to play on one of the PvP megaservers.
It wasn’t as if the rules (or lack of) weren’t made clear to everyone in advance. PvP servers means unrestricted PvP. There’s no rules advocating fairness, sportsmanship-like behaviour or restraint. Horde kills Alliance, Alliance kills Horde regardless of circumstance, class, or level, regardless of whether they’re picking flowers or making their way to an instance portal.
If your flagged for PvP you should expect to be ganked, and there are no rules against repeated corpse camping, bullying or even ‘blocking off’ an area. It’s all fair game, and all within the rules.
This is why I don’t play on PvP servers. Instead I have a chill experience on PvE servers.
This complaint of yours is akin to saying: “They warned me not to put my hand on a stove top, I ignored them and put my hand on a stove top, and burned myself. How dare they!”
But GDP number go up, so we are all getting richer, right? R-right?
I can have my undocumented migrants pick strawberies hunched over for 14 hours a day and sleep in a roach infested dormitory because they are free to choose to associate with me! Liberal capitalism baby!
Why people who don’t do world pvp still chose to play on pvp servers?
I know a friend that doesn’t pvp at all but always rolls on pvp servers, because he said “pve servers are too easy”. That’s just insanity. People grief themselves. That problem can all be solved by rolling on pve realm.
How is that insanity? I choose PvP server exactly for this reason. It adds additional difficulty which is nice. I, myself, never gank anyone (I can’t really, lol), and I’m almost always dying from ganks, but that’s OK. It’s like a pepper which just adds depth to the taste.
Of course it can just introduce insanity situations when some high level rogue keeps ganking low level characters, when horde group ganks everyone inside blackrock mountain, or aforementioned situation with Maraudon. Well, that’s the price I’m ready to pay. I think that PvE servers are a bit too bland without that world PvP. Of course for some people that’s different and they are free to choose PvE servers. But PvP servers are popular for a reason and most people actually do not gank everyone on sight. Just yesterday I was selling buffs in Dire Maul and I was standing for hours outside of the entrance surrounded by 5-10 hordes and nobody touched me, they understood the vitality of my services.
