No it didn’t. these things have almost nothing to do with a lvl58 character boost. There are many reasons for the huge imbalance in factions but the boost doesn’t really factor in them- it might have made a tiny difference but the main reasons aren’t the boost.
I’ll say it again: boosting to 58 WINS you nothing. A character boost to 58 is NOT p2w, as you don’t WIN anything. All you are doing is skipping some grind so that you can start playing the expansion rather than the old classic areas.
You are not gaining character POWER. You are gaining the start of TBC. At 58 with the boost you have almost zero money, rubbish stats, no professions, your toon is weak. You are at a sizeable disadvantage to anyone who has previously played and levelled to 60.
Levels do not equal power when there are 12 more levels to get and the increase in stats etc is so huge between 58 boosted and lvl70 even just equipped with quest gears.
The definition of p2w is gaining an advantage over other players at endgame. So getting dungeon runs which give you BiS, raid runs, etc are P2W. In other games P2W would be defined as buying, say, shards to +12 a weapon which gives the buyer a clear advantage.
As for the ‘nochanges’ that’s just rose tinted blinkered thinking which was not going to happen as games have moved on since TBC was originally released and Blizz needs to cater for it’s wider audience. At the end of the day it’s a game and a business- thinking they did it for the ‘passion’ is laughable.
Blizzard won’t sell P2W. Why? People won’t pay for the subscription if they have everything.
The boost is Pay 2 Skip. You don’t win anything, just save time. After that you go to the AH and buy level 58 outland gear.

By that logic buying bis gear is just pay to skip, you don’t win anything. You can easily get bis gear with time.
Nope, P2W is buying character power, buy definition. A level 58 is vastly surperior to level 1. Thus buying boost is buying character power, thus it’s P2W.
You are wrong but nothing I say will convince you that you are wrong. Will it?

How am I wrong? it’s literally 2+2=4
Not in base 3, it’s a matter of perspective.
Like I said, your mind is made up, even if it is wrong.

If you consider anything competitive in the game then yes you are “winning” by saving a huge amount of time. Also, there is no clear definition of p2w. Ppl usually call it p2w when ppl can buy advantages in the game even if they are as small as the level 58 character boost.
Tokens are not even debatable.
EDIT: If the definition of p2w is that you have to “win” for it to be p2w, then there can never be any p2w since there is no win condition. Clearly that definition is useless.
There is a clear definition and that is buying power. Level 58 boost is clearly buying power. WoW token is clearly buying power, considering half of the bis gear is crafted and BoEs.
I know players don’t want to hear it, but unfortunately WoW is a P2W game, it has been for a long time. The illusion is, the game isn’t as blatant as other titles like SW Battlefront 2 on release. Regardless there are ingame shop services that are clearly P2W, in retail more than in classic, but there we go. We got a boost, now we will get WoW token.
Hey retail boy what u doing on these forums. Ur retail is back that way. Go far ur twisted corridors or whatever it is u do. Leave Classic alone. Nobody wants ur wow tokens or any of ur other retail crap.
I’m agreeing with you but also pointing out that the definition of p2w is unclear and ppl use different definitions, which is also the case on this forum, EVIDENTLY. I don’t know why you are debating with me.

No he is right and you dont want to confirm it even if its bulletproof logic. You have no arguments to support your pov and tbh, there arent any.

No, it’s not pay 2 win, what do you win? Nothing, you bypass some levelling, that is all. They are using the widest definition of it possible, which is not applicable in this game.

Told you so
I said when they announced the boost that Blizzard won’t stop there and they will add more.
I got ridiculed for it

Enjoy your classic version of retail

I hope for no token. Legalised goldbuying could very well be the thing to make me quit.

I don’t think they are adding the token, this is just someone asking about it.
