Before 1.4, epic mounts had no armor. With 1.4 “Swift” models were introduced - the ones with armor
A quest was put in to allow you to exchange your epic mount from prior (without armor) to the new model

In Classic this was not something you could complete - if nothing else, because no one possessed the pre 1.4 epic versions
Any chance these non armor can be added as another version of the epic creatures?

This was one of the things I hoped for in 2019, I was just a couple of days too late originally to get the un-armoured mounts 
could you imagine the outrage if at the beginning of tbc when (if) they enable transfers to era, and it’s suddenly besieged by an influx of players with 1.4 mounts
An incitament to play the Anniversary servers.
… but YES I can imagine - I just so want one for myself, that I would play Anniversary server if this was implemented. ANd it’s not as if everybody could not do this.
maybe that’s the issue though. those mounts have always been exclusive. whats the point if you can just now all of a sudden get them because why not?
Exclusive defined by what?
In this case it’s not the players’ fault since Classic/Anniversary clients are 1.12 client
You can’t be like ‘I was there man…’ as if you made the effort to achieve something unique
Sure in Vanilla you were, however Vanilla has no bearing on Classic such as Classic has no bearing on Anniversary
Something that doesn’t exist is not exclusive, it simply doesn’t exist.
I’d be disappointed persons are taking the stance of ‘exclusivity’ to the point if they can’t have it, no one has it.
From an ‘impact’ to the player base and game point of view
There won’t be a flooding of the server. There will not be any large swath of persons with these mounts. Most persons prefer non base mount models of any type and go after rare or exotic creatures
Additionally should they absolutely have to use base racial mounts, they’d choose the armored version for it’s graphic
The item (mount) itself exists in game already, it’s the normal base mounts. The only difference is that 1.4 version was more fast.
For a game that’s now been released three times, this should only be a positive

The solution could be to conver them into swift mounts when transfering to Era.

If they feel cheated, nothing prevents them (me too in this case, as I play Era) to go to the Anniversary server and play for exactly as long as would be neccesary to net an old mount … I would do so. It’s not as if it would be some sneaky thing, nobody on the Era servers would discover untill the Anniv. players tranferred.
I had not quite appreciated what Egregore had said about era players and transfers. Though to that and your point( assuming there are transfers) there would be no need to change them in any ways? Everyone can get one (and even if they couldn’t oh well
…how many rare mounts persons never got(for any reasons, let alone reasons beyond their control…?
… goes back to the attitude point about ‘if I can’t have it, you can’t have it’)
To be clear the ask is that they simply put the 1.4 non armored model swift base mounts into the game
