Heey since we are going to make WOTLK great again, why not add transmog to the mix?
If you want to play dress up you could buy some dolls or something?
No.
10 chars
With 1 caveat from the original version, I don’t care.
Disable the appearance of transmogged items in structured pvp like battegrounds and arenas.
Transmog would be terrible, keep it out of the game…
I agree with OP.
Since we are getting a reworked Wotlk with all these changes and not the real deal, why not continue changing stuff?
I would also vouch for the implementation of the monk class, since we probably wont get classic cata and the following expansions.
For me personally transmog is one of the worst things ever added to this game.
The reason is that it destroys the feeling of having things. When there is transmog we no longer have things but instead have skins and stats. I hate that feeling.
Having skins is totally fine in many games but not this one.
I’ve never been a fan of transmog myself, i like to be able to tell what people are wearing by looking at them, but that’s not a hill i will die on either.
When transmog comes to the game in cata classic, i will be fine with it.
There is so much stuff that arrived after Wrath that’s in the game now, why not have it?
Said orc in a fancy dress.
Why? Seems like a weird ask
Is it?
You change your playstyle accordingly when someone has certain items but with transmog you can’t see if someone has certain items.
Fair enough tbh was just confused haven’t played classic much but enjoy pvp when I do. Hadn’t considered that aspect
Yes please. As a Vulpera Demon Hunter, I’m looking forward to chilling with friends in my garrison after an evening of Torghast runs to upgrade my class hall when Wrath drops.
I am of the opposite opinion. I value customization in games and WoW is very limited in that regard. We have a few options at character creation and then it’s largely out of our hands, with the exception of the shirt slot and tabards and hide helmet/cloak.
I get the appeal of being able to see if someone has good gear or not – but I despise the complete lack of agency in deciding our looks. It harms the enjoyment of the game quite a bit for me and I’ve always been a proponent for vanity slots. So I’d be happy if they added transmog in the game – especially if they did so with an opt-in toggle. That should please everyone except for the diehard #nochanges purists (who have long since lost the battle).
That’s a pvp only thing. Easy solution: PVP items are no transmogable. And PVP sets are already the best combined so no actual need to modify their appearance.
In PVE I don’t need to judge by the look of other players how to play. I can inspect and see but what value does having Blue shoulders with Red Dress and a clown headpeace (because that is the combination that gives me the highest stats?) give you at a glance?
To be honest, it’s already there, but like in every normal RPG it comes with its own benefits and drawbacks.
You can use whatever gear you want, run around and RP as a noble or farmer or anything really, however you won’t have the stats of your real gear.
Transmog is just for people who want to have their cake and eat it too.
Do you want to slutmog? Go ahead and do it, nobody is stopping you, but accept that you won’t have BiS stats then.
On 2k+ its must be obvious, atleast depending on HP/manna that someone got some more pve parts.
No.
Your own gear is transmogged…
