Well, it depends on the quality of the player base what a rating of 2k means since it’s percentile based.
The percentile system is long gone mate
Oh, I thought it still applied. So what a rating of say 2k actually means now?
Nothing.
2.1k marks duelist and 1.8k is rival.
I hope not. But even if reward for 1800 pvp rating will be handed out on a WQs: free for all, all you can eat basis I ll stop doing anything above RP in goldshire.
You know if every Joe has elite set then it’s no longer elite set.
I see that legitimately over 50% of the people replying in this thread simply cannot read, i will stop using examples from now on and try to make my statements as simple as possible.
I’m going to reiterate one more time that the set i’m talking about has nothing to do with PvP, it’s a damn set obtained from the Arathi Warfront, but that probably won’t stop people from talking about arena…
Don’t try to dumb us dawn, dear OP.
What you want is to get the awesome plate transmog model in one day by spamming heroic warfront? I understood you well and clear.
In 8.1 it was obtainable either by doing some pvp or alternatively by crazy lack doing catch up mechanics, which is available even now.
The colour tint is very insignificant between version and main value of the set is in the model.
As I said before, if someone will make pvp armor models that require some dedication and time and having at least one friend in spammable npc slayer mode I am ok, but salty and not gonna take anything serious!
They already made invincible the most available mount which you can see anywhere so it’s a probable destination anyhow!
There are like 3 different colors and 3 different tiers per set.
At least for Arathi/Season 1.

That is a very good point, and i agree with you 100% that spamming Warfronts and getting such an awesome set in 1 day wouldn’t feel rewarding, but then i ask you… is doing a quest once every 3 weeks for a random drop chance at one of the item appearances rewarding? Is it challenging?
Let’s make it challenging, as far as i’m concerned it should not be an easy set to get, it should require you to do Heroic Warfronts a couple of times (if you want it so badly put in the time and the effort), but at least don’t make it an RNG slot machine. That was the main point i was hinting at.
In other expansions if i loved a certain Tier Set i knew the raid and the difficulty i wanted to do in order to get it and the amount of time/effort required. But it was something that i could control at least, unlike the drop chance of this current set.
At the end of the day it’s Blizzard’s decision, but it feels like such a shame to have such an amazing set with this great color palette be basically obtainable with minimal effort over a (potentially) huge period of time, if you get extremely lucky to not have duplicate items drop.
Tumbed Up for the title alone, and add extra mechanics or make it PvP. Have that set be worth something because you know the art team is gonna kill it
I will tell it to yo, without any negativity or trolling… this set is not PVE.
It’s under PvP set lists and it was available as season 1 pvp reward, which will most likely be available again in the next expansions to buy with honour tokens if one reach same rating ( like right now with legion 1800 pvp gear ).
The slot machine you mentioned - it’s a catch up mechanics for people who want pvp staff without doing pvp - so devs made it a rng slot machine to gate everyone imho and tbh I feel it’s ok!
Well, if the original intent of the WoW dev team was to have this set as a PvP set, then i can’t argue with that.
Still the lesser “tiers” of this set can be easily obtained in Warfronts or by killing elites so it feels a bit underhanded to introduce this set as being obtainable via PvE methods (once per Warfront Cycle by doing the Quest) but the basically time-gating it every 3 weeks.
Then again, i see your point that maybe the set was never intended to have a PvE equivalent in the first place, but blizzard decided to “throw us a bone” in a different color scheme and basically say “Look, you get a chance every 3 weeks so good luck”.
But man, if that was the thought process behind it, then i would rather they kept it as a PvP set only, with no different color iterations for Warfronts.
At least then i wouldn’t get my hopes up too much
You have plenty of time to pick up plate class and improve your pvp know how’s to buy this seasonal reward next exp. I am 99% it will be available cause devs show a consistent pattern in this case: seasonal reward for exp only obtainable in that season or next exp with the same rating requirement.
I am a pally main so I understand your desire to shine in that armor, gl and hf.
And odds are never in our favour, but Is it good enough reason to give up?
Does anyone know where to buy the Xmog of the last season’s elite pvp set ? In Legion we would see the elite sets mog added to the pvp vendor each new season, and we could buy them providing we rated 2k during the said season.
I was confused by this at the start, as the shoulders I obtained on my hunter, did not appear in my set collection, and they looked completely different(the elite set has feathers, the basic one does not…) That’s when I learned there was another set that doesn’t show in the apperane tab, for unknown reason… Hope they’ll add it at some point.
I feel seriously sorry for OP here, I believe they are trolling you, noone can be that stupid …
There are two “elite” variants with completely different sources and completely different colour schemes, but they are similar in design (for mail its fur on shoulder, in darkshore its feathers).
One is obtained by reaching some 2k rating in PvP (1800 if you ignore the back).
And this one can be obtained only during its given season.
And the other one is obtainable from the “first win on warfront”.
Can be obtained even after season ends and is tied to RNG and warfront cycles so collecting it may take years.
And its THIS one the OP is talking about.
Keep your pvp elitists nonsense away from this, there is already “elite” that is obtainable from this PvE afkfest, OP is only asking to make it less stupid and in change make HC fronts actually viable to do.
And I fully support him, got full set for cloth/leather/mail but I got gloves and gloves only for plate since start of BFA, srsly …
I can’t believe I let one entire season slip through my fingers because of that. Blizzard really messed it up there… wts brain.
You auto learn them to your apperance now.
So if I get 1k8 rating this season, I’ll “learn” the xmog directly or only after season 2 has ended ?
