Hi
These Anniversary servers have led to so much back-and-forth discussions since they were announced. Of everyone who had something to say about it, some groups got what they wanted, some didn’t get what they wanted, some got something that they didn’t want.
Everyone can agree that Blizzard can’t possibly please everyone. At the end of the day, they’ve served us a specific blend of WoW according to what they’ve decided they want to sell. Why is it that parts of the community then have to engage eachother in petty gloating, talking down to other groups, denigrating the wants of other groups and tormenting threads discussing what other people want?
It’s one thing to have a discussion about whether or not dual spec or instant mail or whatever is good for the game, its another to purposefully get under people’s skin by making mean-spirited disparaging comments. We’re all here to enjoy some variety of the same game, why does it need to get so personal and divisive?
We’re starting to look like the US forums with the amount of insults and attacks being thrown around, thank god we’re free from their wretched political angles. Is it too much to ask to just respectfully disagree with one another rather than trying to make people feel excluded?
Thanks for reading my post

You know what the issue is? Is that people think that the game is theirs, they think that they can demand this and that from Blizzard “I pay sub, i have the right to say what goes!”, no you don’t, people pay a monthly fee to Blizzard because WoW it’s a live service game to which people should pay the monthly sub if they want to play the game or are happy with the state of the game and by that they want to pay the fee to keep playing but at the end of the day this is Blizzard’s IP, not ours.

I totally agree. I, for one, disagree with the changes. When voicing my opinion I’ve often gotten the response “lol just go play era”. And guess what? I will!
Of course I’m disappointed about the fresh game not being catered to my wishes, but if this is really what people wanted, I’m happy about having era to fall back on. After all this is Blizzard’s IP, and if they think they will make more money and catering to a bigger audience with these changes, I’m just happy they still keep the era servers alive.

Please, I don’t want this thread to become yet another warzone on this board.
If we could avoid making any inflammatory or baiting posts it would be great. This thread isn’t a place for any single group to find sanctuary, it’s meant to be a plea to tone down the hostility between all of the groups. “X group is wrong because Y” isn’t what this thread is for.

Why do you want to keep the buff limits tho?
Not being able to use hots as healer because that could push off other buffs is just dumb

I’m a druid healer on era. The buff limit keeps the game harder, and gives room for mistakes to be made that leads to a wipe. With no buff limit that aspect of raiding will be gone.

Warlocks now being able to actually use their dots in PVE truely is one of the tragedys of our times.

Yes, game should not have those things.
Hard = Bad.
It is 2019 all over again. Ex private server players come to blizzard forums calling names to people that are OK with changes.
People that might feel nice with the changes are not kids, nor stupid, nor tourists. They enjoy the game and they welcome qol changes.
So yes. We don’t need to fight about it. I didn’t like that they kept things in 2019 but said nothing. Just enjoyed the game. Well, maybe others should do the same. But since this is a game they can just opt out. Not come in forums to insult other players

Well put
It’s fine to disagree on things, life is full of various compromises and WoW is no different. Different people want different things, neither instant mail between alts nor TBC Era realms nor whatever else any given faction fights for is going to spell the end of the world… of warcraft. What will spell the end of the world (of warcraft) is constant infighting and brewing discontent with your fellow player over every issue imaginable.
If we must discuss individual issues in this thread, if we could please do so without sneaking in snarky comments about how X or Y is below average intelligence. Those comments get us nowhere and just derail the conversation that ultimately we are all spending our time on these forums to have.

Anyway, hoping this will be civilized thread, the reason I want to play this server (although I am actively raiding at SoD) is that SoD overdid it. I want a classic with some QoL but not overpowered classes everywhere. I would very much like to tone down warriors in this try though just to have some composition balance. Some.
Agree with your post.
What I take issue with is the use of the word ‘Fresh’ when launching this anniversary edition. If they were closer to the community they should know fresh is synonymous with the Vanilla/Era crowd. The SoD/Seasonal crowd are pushing for these changes and they have an active/current version with a multitude of changes they can enjoy.
This ‘Fresh’ has resulted in a clash as it entices the former vanilla enjoying crowd while catering to the latter.
I will play, but I am disappointed with the changes.
Edit = That said, I like the GDKP ban so I guess you could argue an element of hypocrisy in my statement but GDKP I see as more gold buyer/bot user targeted and not QOL/game breaking.
