Please. I don’t like being forced into playing it. You (probably) don’t like being forced into it. Little Timmy or his Nan don’t really care for it either.
It basically removes one of my Honor talent options because its simply a “save the game” button. It’s boring, it has little synergy beyond a buggy Cloak of Shadows interaction. There are so many other cool talents I want to use. Greater Fade is basically also mandetory which leaves only one flexible pick. Greated Fade however has some mechanics and outplay potential to it.
Please, I’d personally want this talent removed, not fixed. Because the last time you had to fix something with this spec it took you 2 expansions.
I mean it has been around for ages, and its a pretty cool skill. Sometimes there are just does amazing skills you know. Dunno it might have been baseline at one point? Can not remember. Might have been better not having to make the choice. But yea that is blizz philosophy for you they put clearly the best skills to compete against each other in our talent trees. I do believe there is some choice to made for a few talents thou depending on situation.
Was it thou? Do not remember it being useless, now given in 2s you would multi dot with warrior which was super fun and than execute but surly in 3s it was good, even thou turbo was way to broken for any clothy to even be played.
Exactly! I just really want it gone. And any coolness with the spell has gone away overtime for simply having to sacrifice so much fun simply because of how game changing it can be.
Instead of removing void shift I’d rather have them bulk void origins in the spec itself. I understand you’re unleashing a great deal of AE damage so it makes sense number wise in PVE but it feels so f-ing rigid. Reduce the damage and make it instant.
Well, for as often as I take origins, I still don’t believe it holds the same “BiS must take” slot as life swap. If we do that, it’s literally just removing other things to make room for the tumour to stay.
How is it a 200iq move? It’s just a spell that you click. You wait until a certain % and you life swap, boom shakalaka. Only counter is if your teammate lines you or you get cc’d cause the enemies have at least 50 iq.
And everyone has a mouse-over macro for it so you don’t even need to click the thing.
It’s just braindamage-easy, too boring and too good.
Agreed, although I love life swap as an ability it’s more of a headache, forcing us into only 1 changeable pvp talent and being forced to play cc break trinket (human relent can work too in certain situations).
I’d love if they either make it baseline or remove it altogether.
That’d at least make for some freedom in the pvp talents you can choose.
Against mage teams for example we have 0 choice in pvp talents. (Swap, fade, thoughtsteal)
I just don’t want them to remove a playstyle option. If VO would be bulked in the spec which is probably never gonna happen at least this expansion, you’d be able to have VS / GF and a third talent. Also some other classes barely have any choice neither in their slots because 2 are mandatory.
I don’t get why you’d rather have something removed instead of another slot free’d up by having VO bulked in the spec but whatever, unless you don’t like Void Shift as a spell and then it’s another problem.

Actually I only play it against rogue comps, and it usually is to rotate cooldowns in order for my hpala not be gibbed.
Like so many things it was taken out of our primary kit in Legion and made a dedicated PvP talent. Quite frnakly, my opinion since legion is that shadow is an incomplete spec because certain things that make it work in PvE world play are locked behind PvP talents for no good bloody reason.
Void Shields, for example. Greatly improves the levelling experience while soloing and adds virtually nothing to PvP because in Shadow your shield is tiny. About 8% of HP. It gets poped virtually instantly and void shields is worth about 540 shielding, which is pathetic in pvp.
Greater Fade used to be a Glyph that basically every priest had for the better part of a decade. Now locked up in a PvP talent.
Void Shift was baseline in Panda-land.
Devouring Plague was a flat dot back in Wrath with a 45(?) second DC and 9 second duration, before they decided it “didnt fit with shadows theme” which killed us for a while because it was a huge source of damage and healing. Somehow its back in vouge again but that lasting plague talent to make the duration it used to be default.
Vamp Embrace used to be baseline and the ability itself just boosted it to the point it was actually a noticeable heal even in raids if you timed it right. A shadow of its former glory, though buffed back up to an actually useful button again in Shadowlands. It had been relegated to uselessness for years prior to this xpac and even bare functionality was locked behind a pvp talent that wasnt worth it ever.
Mind Trauma, which used to be baseline on Knifue.
Intangibility. Baseline on Xal’atath.
Void Torrent. Baseline on Xal’atath.
Void Shields. Very similar to Mental Fortitude, baseline on Xal’atath.
So much of our kit now used to be baseline and we needed it all. And now its all locked behind Talents and PvP talents and you have to pick what you want to work as it was originally intended and some of it you just get the crap broken version unless youre willing to turn on war mode and get brutalised in world pvp because we dont have the kit to fight in pvp without full support.
Theyve struggled to figure out what to do with shadow basically since Wrath when they decided it would no longer be a spec for levelling only. They fumbled with making it variable and never really succeeded. They finally made it new and interesting and fun in Legion with void form but couldnt control what theyd built, and over 3 expansions have entirely killed it off to the point they might as well just removed it and make shadow form a 2 min CD. We get to actually play our spec, or at least a much more boring and less rewarding version as built during Legion 16% of the time because Void Form is now a flat CD that doesnt scale with uptime. The rest of the time we get to play a one button spec as we spam Mind Flay for 75 seconds until void form is ready again.
