As title says, can I still play normal classic with level 60 cap despite TBC release? If yes, are realms populated enough to get into random BGs fairly fast?
Been playing SL but considering going back to classic. Never did PVE, all I like to do is Warsong and Arathi.
Also still debating between enhance shaman, shadow priest and rogue. Any input?
So no one can give you a definitive answer unless we could see into future but here’s what I can tell you…
Vanilla private servers have been around since TBC in 2007 and has been popular since they came out so clearly there is a market for Vanilla only content.
That being said Blizzard have said they are open to merging servers should the populations need it so they know it will be popular just not as much for the obvious reason of TBC coming out.
If you’re a PVP’er fan then i’d highly recommend moving to TBC because that’s when PVP really opens up tbh.
You can still play Classic. If you chose to do so, you have to opt for “Era-Servers” right before the pre-Patch. The game will ask you, which version you want to play. Servers are going to be emptier in the beginning, but Blizz said that they will merge servers, if they are too empty. BGs are cross-realm for all of Europe, so I guess they are going to be open fairly frequently.
Can you help me remember what changed in BC PvP? Been quite a while since then.
I have very vivid memories of those insane windfury procs on my 2H enhance, ambush hitting extremely hard on my rogue or how you could destroy people as a shadow priest. I’m not 100% sure however if that was in classic or TBC. I pretty much quit the game at the end of TBC and only came back now.
Also: If let’s say I have a 60 character on classic and I move to TBC, will I still have a copy of that character on classic at 60 or is it gone all the way?
Class specifics I can’t remember but overall PVP added Arena’s 2v2-3v3-5v5 and with that Arena sets aswell as a new Battleground called Eye of the Storm which similar to Arathi basin but with a capture the flag aspect.
and most if not all serious pvp’ers will be going to TBC imo because it’s just hailed as the god times for PVP.
There are going to be two realms instead of one when TBC comes out. The TBC one, obviously, but there will also be Classic forever realms. Playing at 60 on TBC realms will be difficult as you can’t lock your XP.
Classic forever realms will be just that, they will stay classic forever and will never move onto TBC, you cannot transfer off them back to TBC realms though.
You get to choose for each character, move onto TBC or go to Classic forever realms, if you want to be on both with the same character you can pay Blizzard for that privilege.
Blizzard will take a snapshot of all the characters and it’s that snapshot that will be moved, not allowing people to move gear or gold around to cheat and get more stuff or gold.
They will be completely separate and cannot interact.
