Can you stop the bait and switch with satchel of co-operation

Seen this about 5 times this week, where I see the satchel available for healing or tank. I switch to the alt that can and queue. Only to find the satchel becomes non existent as the queue pops.
I do not have any need to do crappy HCs or LFR on any of my alts. The only reason I would queue is for the satchel. Conning me into a queue then taking away the reward without even telling me is wrong.

There was one for dps LFR wing 2 yesterday too, ended up queueing for nothing! :unamused: stopped bothering to relog for it too.

I suppose the need is filled and it just goes away then?! Still they could just give the bags to those that queue’d while it was offered really…

Yeah I finished a few in the past and found nothing at the end. I was accused of making it up on reddit. I learned to check before accepting now.
It is a pure swindle and petty. If the reward is offered and you spend your time queueing then honour it. Stop messing people about.

That’s how I remember it back from BFA. As long as you queued while the bonus reward was up you would get it at the end (given you don’t requeue while waiting).

Maybe they changed it. I honestly haven’t queued for one in ages.

That the reward is only up for a short time before it disappears means the system is working, which is nice. But yeah people that queued while it was up should get it.

huh? the satchel doesnt stay anymore when you queued for it when it popped up?

as far as i know and remember the satchel stays until you either leave queue or relog.

edit:

seems the satchel isnt available anymore once the original party changes.

someone on the us forums had the same problem, created a ticket and after some back and forth a gm supposedly said this:

I was finally told if anyone from the original party leaves the group during the run, the satchel is no longer available!
After reopening the ticket to question this, the second and last GM that answered my last ticket explained:
"In regards to the reward being unavailable when the party changes this has been the case for many years. While this is working as intended I can understand how this is confusing and I do think you bring some important details to the discussion.
“The best place to share your feedback are on our forums. You may find other players with similar experiences and from there the devs can compile the feedback and see how it is affecting the community as a whole. https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/”

so i suppose if you are only in it for the satchel and someone leaves/get replaced, you can assume that you will not get the reward anymore and well…leave?

edit2:

i did a quick search on this but didnt really find anything worthwhile about it. however, it does make sense since the satchel is only saved for a certain queue and if you requeue to get more members then the satchel goes away because its a different queue.

Thank you for digging that one out.

This may make sense to a blizzard dev, but not to myself, the guy who was asked to help out. The guy who has no warning that a particular party has changed.

If the group has changed and the guy queueing has fulfilled his part of a bargain, which no longer exists, then pay up the satchel regardless. I have waited in queues for over 10 minutes, and then had the reward removed.

From what I have observed, any loading screen is a re-queue in the sense that it resets the reward

Except I had not reloaded into any area. I have seen this happen fairly quickly after joining the queue, when it has been offered to a dps.

For the people confused about this or whether there’s been a change, no. It’s always been like this. It’s a bad luck thing and it happens to people more often as the population dwindles. Usually when a patch is becoming stale.

As OP said, it can happen without any player interaction. That means no load screens, no disconnects. Just sitting in a hub city and waiting.

The queue itself can change for reasons Blizzard doesn’t explain well. Tickets have been opened about it and closed, and compensation isn’t given for that spent time.

I suspect that if you’re in LFR and people leave, leading to a new queue, it can take away the satchel. Which is garbage, but that’s a possible explanation, not an excuse.

Plenty of us have put in tickets about it and Blizzard is aware. So either nothing is going to happen, or just keep putting in tickets in hopes that they’ll get to it.

Welcome to the league of people who wouldn’t touch LFR without the reward, only to have it taken away after slogging through 10 stacks of determination. With or without teaching. With or without toxicity. Through an untold number of “well maybe you should” suggestions.

Guarantee it regardless of queues or warn people before they learn via tickets and/or forums, Blizzard.

I miss the times when those satchels could drop mounts.
