AH on my realm is absolutely ridiculous. Tons of stuff is posted with starting bid 1c, and then just cancelled if they don’t get the buyout they’re hoping for.
How is this even allowed? That’s not how auctions work!!!
Once you have bid on an item, all reason would suggest that you get it unless someone outbids you. So, starting an auction, you don’t post a starting bid lower than a price you can accept. Being able to cancel just f*cks with the whole system.
Can we please get something done about this?
Get a lightweight addon like Auctionator so you can sort by buyout per unit.
To counter these guys bid something like 50% of the bottom end of the market price for the commodity. That way, if they cancel, the cancellation fee will be significant, and if they don’t, you can still re-sell the item for a profit.
The above is a bit tedious, so far haven’t found an addon that can automate it, but it’s still worth doing to drive out these guys if you got a niche you regularly sell in.
She is not talking about those who sell 1 item instead of a stack at the time, she is talking about those who set it up to 1c bid, and maybee 1g buy out,
There is no deposit on many items. I also checked this, why a person uses such a behavior as it leads the deposit will be lost. But… then I realize there is no deposit on single items.
As long as Blizzard will keep it this way, we have to go through 100s of single items to be able to buy what we want. And as they uses, highly likely an add-on to auction and cancel it, I can assume there are lots of negative effects such as lag on the Auction House itself.
