After pressing “PLAY” button, my game just wont start.
After pressing it mulltiple times, i get an error code -
the CAS system was unable to initialize.
Anyone else having same issue, and could fix it?

I get the same thing. I’ve tried all of the steps on https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/13934 but no luck. Only started happening since the pre-patch went live.
Full Error:
"The CAS system was unable to initialize: Unable to initialize CAS from build info file. Code version does not match .build.info.
Unable to initialize CAS from patch service: provided version info string(s). VersionInfo:eu. CDNinfo: eu
Hoping this can be fixed without a re-install. Not even sure if that will work?
I got the same problem and solved with these steps:
-Modify the Config.wtf adding/modifying the lines
SET playIntroMovie “10”
SET gxApi “D3D12”
-Clear the nvidia cache folders (DXCache and GLCache in the path C:\Users<>\AppData\Local\NVIDIA
Watchout for duplicate lines in the Config.wtf, otherwise the value will be overridden by the last one.
(credits to the USA tech forum for the Config.wtf part)
Hmm, i do NOT have SET gxApi line in the config at all ?!
Please do read this thread;
Tried this but no luck I do not have an NVIDIA graphics card.
Also running on Win10 not Win7
I have a solution to this specific error message, please see https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/en/wow/t/the-cas-system-was-unable-to-initialize-cant-start-game-since-df-pre-patch/397154
It says “Page Not Found” for me.
