So I tamed a cat in STV With Prowl 2. Then I used it it until I got the prowl ability. Then I stabled it and tried to learn it to my main pet, but it won’t work. My main pet is also a Cat. The ability is green and I have enough training points. But when I press the “Train” button absolutely nothing happens.
Doesn’t it first need prowl 1?
Don’t think so. I think I taught it bite 6 immediatly, without learning any other ranks.
Here, from petopia (classic):

Good luck
How many skills your pet does have now? Iirc, they can only have 4 skills simultaneously. So if your cat has Bite, Claw, Dash and Growl there’s no room for Prowl anymore.
Thank you that is probably it, Thought this as well, but Couldn’t find much info on it. Perhaps I missed it. Do you recommend me to unlearn claw then? And go with. Growl, prowl, dash and bite? I read that bite’s a bit better than claw.
What hattivatti said. If your cat already has full skills you’ll have to reset its talents at the pet trainer and drop one.
I never knew that, I thought you could have as many as you like and just have 4 on the bars.
It depends totally on your play style and spec. For both claw and bite i’d recommend the talent that increases focus regeneration, which most beast master hunters often have. Personally, i seldom use any stealth abilities. I want to maximize their speed and damage to make them more efficient killers.
You should also have a look to the order the skills are in the pet bar. Your pet will use the leftmost skill always first whenever it’s not on cooldown, so naturally Growl should be there to ensure the pet keeps aggro. Dash or Prowl, on the other hand, are only needed once and therefor their place is on the right.
Most hunters have several pets in their stables for different kind of purposes. One for soloing, one for dungeon runs and one for PvP. for example. They all can have very different set of abilities and skills. It’s all up to you what you think you would need.
Alright, Thanks a lot
I went exactly for those 4 on my pve cat
I tried using Prowl for the coolness factor but it pissed me off how slow my pet was all the time.
