Casual bg players. What is our future in SL?

I agree. They have to fix it.

Currently? My estimation is somewhere between 5 and 10% reduction depending on what lvl is that gearā€¦
Currently you can see some classes hit for 10kā€¦in 23-26k health poolsā€¦however that can be fixed via balancing the skill itself.
My idea is that with an extra 10% reduction as set bonus that works in pvp only you could make the pvp gear more useful in pvp than pve gear.

Youā€™re aboslutely not an extreme minority, far from it.

Most players I know only do mainly PVE. The subset that do play Pvp, mainly play BGs. And a subset of those play arena.

Itā€™s simple, players are intimidated by pvp as a whole, and the more ā€œseriousā€ it is, the less they are likely to engage. Youā€™re not the minority.

thanks guys for supporting us in this thread. Unrated bgs should remain for casual gamers possible. Pve games that want to relax should be able to join.

Of course the arena hard core guys have a right for their shiny gear that they can use to compete with themselves.

I fear I wont be able to support you guys for long.

I was waiting for the Shadowlands systems to come live, to see if Iā€™d play it. In the current shape, well, nothing for me there. Sub is ending soon.

I decided to vote with my wallet, and get my fun somewhere else.

If you guys want change, Iā€™d suggest you do the same. Money is the only language they understand.

What are you going to play then? What about pvp aspects into your new game?

Last days battlegrounds seem to be ok. But today Saturday 28 November, today is something else. With my shaman 170 ilvl, I am against PVE teams with mythic super gear, stomping everyone. Exactly as it used to be in BFA. Will this pattern pertain even when we are able to get arena gear? Will PVE players dominate with their big gear? As little off topic, even arena gear will be inferior again? Because battleground gear is inferior and cannot go above 171 ilvl right now.

So in a way they force me to do mythic?

I will not.

Unsub.

Iā€™ll play a few different games. For my pvp thirst, Iā€™ll play some Street fighter/Soul calibur with some friends, and whatever comes my way.

Then Iā€™ll play other stuff, fantasy mainly, those are my favourite universes.

Nothing that resembles wow pvp, but heh. Iā€™ll try some other mmos too. Now that I think about it, ā€œreturn of reckoningā€ wasnt bad at all. A lot clunkier than wow for sure, but filthy casuals like me can just play and gear up. Crazy concept heh? :stuck_out_tongue:

Lastly, Iā€™ll have a lvl20 twink. Cost nothing, you gear him up once, then you can play the whole expansion, BGs only. Good for when the wow itch comes back

Canā€™t see myself or a lot of others sticking round for long in this expansion, max level BGā€™s are beyond silly now. Full teams of geared FOTMS just rolling over everything, by no means a new phenomenon but one that is excruciatingly boring now.

The issue is that random bg is not rewarding.

Players all moan that people come into BG with no gear contributing to a loss yet donā€™t want to allow pvp players to gear up doing the content they like.

Allow honor gear to start at dungeon equivalent and max out rank at raid normal each tier.

It reduces the gear gap, means players go into bg with a progression, equalises gear somewhat and allows access to other areas of the game content.

With reduced gear being awarded and blizz wanting higher participation across all areas of the game it will allow people gain gear from multiple sources.

Conquest gear should start higher and finish at mythic 15 equivalent and be rewarding for them as it is rightly so organised.

Organised pvp or pve shouldnā€™t punish casual experience just because. It should be higher thats for sure but no so much so that it creates a huge rift and power shift.

It just narks me some attitudes on here, ā€œno participation epics, no afk gearā€

Letā€™s get something straight, you spend your time in your content and pvp will spend their time on theirs.

If you place a reasoned argument, there isnā€™t one for against pvp progression.

  1. anything up to mythic 10 can be repeated weekly for almost all players with the time.
Most people create carry groups once gear is about in the system and is a set route and dps check easily met for most, a good tank and heal will carry dps most of the time.

  2. time spent for pvp is just as consuming or difficult, there isnā€™t a lot of honor in losing so your team needs to be competent to get honor at any decent rate.

  3. with honor gear meeting normal raid Ievel at max rank it will keep participation high. It will also provide a progression path and keep the gap from widening to far, this in turn means no templates needed and good even matches balancing the win rates, this in turn reduces queues as more play and help to balance factions in the long term.

  4. donā€™t use the afk farm crap, thatā€™s down you you the players to report them in the system thats been there since BC, and boot them out and make it non viable.
blizz could help here with an increasing deserter timer de buff and bans.

By the way, for all those people talking about how you should not be getting good gear for no effort: the new system allows AFKing in arenas for free honor with the free honor - since it was ā€œearnedā€ in rated PVP - counting towards the vault and providing ilvl 200 base conquest gear.

Ironic, right? Just because you AFK in rated, you automatically get gear that is better than the highest ilvl one can obtain, after a lot of time, in unrated.
