Casual bg players. What is our future in SL?

:100: its not cs 1.6. You can expect getting lfr raid ilvl with random bg and its maximum to be more optimistic.

Agreed, cant wrap my head around people wanting to be competative by doing less content.

Weird, ‘cause I can’t wrap my head around people thinking I shouldn’t be competitive in the mode I spam(med) 24/7.

But I think we will be limited on how much we can upgrade it. I do not think 1400 will be the only requirement

The mode you play is PvP. It’s the equivalent of PvE players doing normal dungeons but wanting to be competative against heroic/mythic raiders in the same dungeon.

No.

It’s the equivalent of a normal dungeon where Mythic Raid bosses randomly spawn & the people doing that normal dungeon don’t/can’t earn the gear to deal with it by playing normal dungeons ad nauseum.

No. I do not want to be competitive in arena. I want to spam every night 2 hours of random bgs and be competitive at those.
Arena players years now consider random bgs as trash level. Then their best gear should be not be the leading factor.

They want to play in champions league let them be competitive there.
No reason coming is second league showing us how much more powerful they are.

People who play arena also play battlegrounds…

Just because you either cant or wont to do competitive doesn’t mean those who do competitive should be weaker (In any other aspect of PvP) in the one you play the most.

Thankfully it will never be that way, because, you know, MMORPG and all that.

none told them to not play. Just saying that the difference should not be huge. Arena is a broken system for years that puts many classes outside. Tanks being a good example.
Unrated bgs should be accessible from everyone

I didnt say they shouldn’t either

Realistically it wont be massive but it will make a difference, as it should. Its more difficult, why shouldnt it be? If it wasn’t then why do we have gear at all in the game?

They are accessible to everyone, but your only going to get out of them the time and effort you put in like every other aspect of your life. WoW is no different and its tiring listening to people wanting to be fed with a silver spoon.

It’s not like your gunna get rolled over everytime, there will be loads of other casual bg players and PvE players where you will either be on a equal footing or have the advantage (depending on how well they handle PvE trinkets this xpac)

good answer . Only one comment on that

WoW is no different and its tiring listening to people wanting to be fed with a silver spoon.

Wow is a game and believe me there is nothing worse for a working father that can only play one hour per day feeling that it gets into the championship. I am not asking for shiny mythic gear, I am asking for gear that would allow me to play in those unrated bgs and enjoy them.

Enjoy means that I feel that I can contribute and many times I have been really helping for a win to come.

I understand, however, just because your situation limits you doesn’t mean its fair to limit those who don’t/cant have those type of commitments.

Like i said, the gear you will get with the vers% increase with trinkets etc should still give you a chance if not an advantage for those who play the game the exact same way you do and those who do the harder content will be rewarded with gear that gives them a slight advantage.

Personally i prefer to play rated more than bg’s and will only play bg’s when my team are offline and im sure im not the only one who does this.

I think as the video was mentioned, it will be ideal to combine both Battlegrounds and Mythic dungeons pre-season, during season obviously you can do all three ways combined (Raiding, Keystones and BGs) but you will only get to choose one of the three weekly rewards as a bonus, so I suppose the more stuff you do the more gear chance you will obtain per week? However, if you decided to play rated then your conquest gain would be much higher than from a casual’s point of view.
Personally I will remain casual and stick with unranked, but I will still do all content. At least I am happy to know that Blizzard has listened to the PvP community and I might perhaps make an alt to fully dedicate it to the PvP environment.

You dont deserve any good gear, period. Do harder Content if you want to stay relevant with the Gear.

How do u know what I reserve?

Why is it ‘harder content’ when I face 2 rated people in rated Arena, but ‘easy content’ if I face those same rated people at a flag I’m defending/attacking in a bg?

My understanding is in rated Arena you’ll face people of similar skill/gear to you. In BG’s you can (& do) face people immortal to you.
Why is the former ‘harder content’ again?

To be realistic, you face much much more lower skilled players in battlegrounds than you do in arena’s. Im pretty sure if you meet a gladiator in battlegrounds its pretty rare (or atleast more rare than seeing other casual/entry level pvp’ers), if all you do is battlegrounds youdont provide any challange or benefits to them to be honest, even those in arena’s hate getting matched with people with lower MMR.

Not to mention, non-rated battlegrounds doesnt require the synergy that arena does, your basically playing 10v10 and essentially hoping they do the objective and not leeroy into 5 of the opposite faction, in their graveyard, with the flag.

That is very simple. In Arena theres rating gained, and the higher you go, the better the people get and the harder it becomes usually. That rewards you with better things.

In BG, you more often than not fight a lot of the times just super casual people, unless they are premade or trying to gear up. That should not reward you with equally good gear.

Plus, in BGs you can just AFK in a corner and get rewards too, which invaliduates (?) those rewards even further from becoming decent.

They should be a good entry pass to Arena and Rated BG, but not more than that.

Maybe the wording of my question is confusing, but I can’t think of a better way to phrase it.

Why is facing 2ppl in Arena more difficult than facing the same 2ppl in a BG?

( -because you have lower skilled ppl in BG
-because you don’t provide any challenge or benefits to them
-because you don’t require the synergy
).
Not trying to be obtuse, I honestly don’t see an answer.

This I agree with, which is my main gripe with this gearing system.

So it’s harder to beat 2ppl in arena because there’s rating gained & easier to beat them in BG because there’s no rating!? I’m honestly trying to understand…

So to be clear, playing against someone in Arena with similar gear & skill is harder & deserves better rewards than playing against the same 2ppl (&or people 20ilvls above me) in a bg, which is easy & shouldn’t provide me with the necessary gear to be competitive in said bg?

Harder content rewards better gear, what is not to understand?

To face decent people you usually que for rated BGs and not randoms. You can face them in randoms, but they are usually swarmed by people that do not have as much experience or take on more a casual approach.

That logic is fairly simple I do not see the problem here.
