Change the current mythic raiding lockout system

Hello!

Earlier today i was logging into WoW after a long day of work, and thinking i would play WoW and raid Uldir and try to progress for a few hours.

(Im currently at 2/8 Mythic)

I queued and entered a grp that already had killed ZEK before, but were missing a person for a second kill.

So far so good.

I got instantly teleported, accepted the raid lock of 2/8 M and waited around 1min to hear that the raid leader had found a IRL friend coming after all…

So i was kicked from the grp, saved to that raid lock… This obviously made me mad (but not at the raid leader who kicked me (i can totally understand that) but at the current system that allows this to happen…

Currently im working shift, not being able to join a guild and attend scheduled progressing raiding… Im already at a disadvantage since im a pug, why make the disadvantage even more with the current raid lock system?

HERE is where my questions to begins:

1: Why does blizz make me at a disadvantage from not being able to progress with a guild?

2: Dont blizz want people to spend as much time as possible in their game?

3: Why make it so hard for PUGS to progress through Mythic raiding content?

I don’t know if introducing the “horror” of mythic raiding to the PuG community whould be a wise move. Just look at the mythic+ community who spend far more time spreading toxicity rather then being a nice and welcoming community. Heck I whould argue the greatest issue with the steady decline of the game’s systems generally boils down to those people being hyperbolic about basicly everything.

Mythic+ being to hard or too easy, Titanforging, boosting, class balancing etc. There is like no constructivity involved bringing in people who rage about every single detail of the game, all that have managed to achive are the total absence of any community managers aswell as making people feel put off by the game. Making mythic raiding into what heroic PuG’s and Mythic+ have become whould do more harm then good.

Just picture all the blame people whould put on eachother at wipe 40-50 on Fetid or wipe nr 100 on Zul. It whould be so much raging about difficulty(with no constructive feedback), aswell as players feeling entitled to do content which they can’t do and demand nerfs untill blizzard cave in to satisfy the lowest common denominator.

If you were the maker of WoW, or control the content and so on… (that hopes people plays wow as much as possible)

would you have a player teleported into the raid and accept raid lock and kicked after 1 min and not being able to play more mythic that week…

: Playtime in raid : 30 min in one week

or have a player teleported into a raid grp and dont get question of raid lock, still kicked after 1 min, BUT joined another grp right after and progressed through Uldir.

: Playtime in raid : 1-3 hours that evening and total maybe of 5-6 hours of progress that week…

with one would you prefer as a game maker?
And witch would you prefer as a WoW player?

I want to have fun play the game. progress, wipe or whatever, at least have the chance to play as i want. not being locked out of some stupid raid lock cuz someone kicked me…

Well I never said what i whould do/want ofcourse. No I whould not even have a raid lock out. I whould had let people do whatever they want how many times they want. If someone wanted to farm mythic taloc for 10 hours straight with loot everytime I whould allow him. But this is not how the games designed.

I feel sorry for your lock out. However I think; The WoW community are not ready as a whole to handle it. It’s not personal, but people are very abusive right now. Your lock out proves that no? The RL knew fully well you whould be locked, yet he removed you and got you saved.

Yes, the problem is not with the raid leader (i totally get that he would replace me after IRL friends coming) Its just the system that makes me sad.

Here i am trying to spend hours to play the game i like and i get punished for being a PUG basically…

Same with Taloc and Mother too. i dont want to waste my raid lock on risking to disband on Taloc or mother, before even starting to progress more… even tho i would like to, to get more gear and getting in some more kills.

That makes people like me (PUGS) play much less than intended… And 2/8m people will not que for taloc and mother

There is a simple solution to this and its to make peoples raid lock disappear, or implement a rule that says you can’t get locked until you progressed and downed some bosses. If you join a Taloc group and just kill him, you would still be able to join another grp on Mother later… but if you got 2/8 and progress more like killing Zek or vec, then you would get a raid lock for that specific group…

After actually progressing!

This also being discussed here: Why does Mythic need more restrictions than Heroic?

Hyperboles like calling entire communitys toxic?

Mythic raids are not aimed at pugs, they are aimed at organised guilds or steady communitys.
19 out of 20 pugs only down the first 2 bosses anyway, so i dont think this is a problem afterall.

But honestly, if you remove lockouts mythic splitraids will be more prevalent than they have ever been. And thats somethign blizzard has worked very hard for to prevent it in the past year. So i dont see it happening.

I dont see a solution for this issue and i dont think it really needs one as pugging is hit and miss anyway.

Well, this (of many topics) lost my interest for this game :stuck_out_tongue: haven’t played since i started this topic…

Yeah once Mythic raid goes crossrealmed it should turn off the ID lock. This way they still keep people out of Mythic Raiding and making PUGs impossible.
