I think you should stop telling others how to play the game…
Yeah, you’re totally not impeding on the fun of others while rooting for the removal of tools that aid us in both self improvement and guild progression.
Hypocrisy thy name is…Tah.
Well, I think sacrifices have to be made for a better future. As said, maybe blizzard can just ask the wow logs devs to remove the gaussian DPS curve, because I think this is the most problematic part. They should also change the rankings and make clear speed most prominent to encourage team play over individual parsing.
Btw, Tah has been very consistent with their opinions actually. You’d be more accurate calling me a hypocrite, since my opinions change constantly lmao.
That’s not the same as ‘telling you how to have fun’.
So no, there’s no hypocrisy. I like this game a certain way so I want changes that support that way; as do you. As does every single player. And sometimes those wishes do not align. Unfortunate, but that’s the way it is. It’s up to Blizzard to decide who they listen to.
However, you HAVE now turned this into an argument. So retroactively I’ve now forcefully lied to Rootlocus. Shame on you.
Assuming this is your main you don’t take part in any group content so I’m dying to know how combat logs affect your gameplay.
These statistics and logs provide transparency and metrics, nothing more. If you want them gone, it’s hard not to point out the obvious reason.
Anyway, it’s never going to happen so idc about this conversation any longer.
Well, I mean I understand the common popular opinion in forums, that blizzard needs to appeal to as many people as possible, but sometimes goals conflict with eachother, and this is the issue. Sometimes one way to play the game cannibalized the rest. We see this in pvp with 3v3 having cannibalized the entirety of wow pvp by wanting it to be the exclusive competitive esport with all the rewards. As soon as solo shuffe got implemented, 3v3 arena died lmao. The thing is, this game has goal conflicts. We can’t have everything simulatenously. It’s impossible. We can’t have logs and a good semi-casual to semi-hardcore atmospshere, because the semi-hardcore copy the hardcore without proper knowledge, and this leaks down the the casuals, and so on. It is what it is. WoW Logs can be very beneficial, but the way it is used by most people is 1. non-optimal. 2. toxic 3. self-destructive to guilds. We also see, how clueless people are about logging by the way wowhead and some youtubers portray the data making tier lists, which are non-sensical.
Read above. Yes, sometimes things have to be removed for the entire system to improve. Removing things, or keeping them on maintenance is sometimes just necessary. If there was a button I could press for WCL to be deleted, I wouldn’t hesitate, but maybe a middle ground is the best solution. Btw, if all addons were included in the deletion, I would still press the button. I think raiding currently is just way too overoptimized.
People taking the game too seriously is and always has been one of the biggest issues with WoW as a game. Warcraftlogs is just one of the many offenders.
I’d love to see the proof for this. Or is it one of those “everyone knows it” kind of things? If you had actual proof of your claims, you would’ve started with it mate.
Here’s the thing: leaders decide whom they invite, based on any reason they want. If they misinterpret numbers, it’s not the number’s fault.
The difference is you want to limit my options without disclosing the reason while pretending to be clever.
You’re preaching to the choir.
I’ve been a ‘victim’ of such a thing on numerous occassions in the past several years; as I play the game in a particular way.
