Let’s start a list of things we want if cataclysm classic launches. This gives the team something to work with. Repeated input I will add to this main list. Let yourself be heard!
Make the old world accesible by using a Chrome Time to alternate between classic azeroth and cataclysm azeroth. This way the old game doesn’t just go away.
That’s true, but would we want the old world to be gone again forever? There should be an option right for players to choose… Cata leveling or vanilla leveling experience.
We need less feat of strengths, and less things that go unobtainable.
First thing i’d like to say is that the account wide achievements and mounts/pets was a MOP thing. Then i’d like to add one more suggestion - pre-nerf Cata heroic - no one wants to do the snoozefest heroics after the nerf :>
It’d be for the best to keep Cata as it was, even if they failed to stick the landing, with Dragon Soul.
There already are era servers for vanilla and that’s enough, because nobody can be bothered with the stuff past the first like 3 months, in the server’s lifecycle anyway.
No matter what you change, Cata Classic will never be as popular as the first Classic expansions were/are. Cata is very similar to current retail and I can’t see them add the ‘old world’ to it in a way that would work. You’d have 2 times the quests and leveling would be scuffed.
I reply this in every similar thread, but a reset of sorts would be the ideal imo. After Wrath has ended, give or take a year extra - so in about 2 years - a re-launch of classic with the promise of returning to TBC and Wrath again would be the best solution.
Private servers are always popular and recently Classic ERA has seen a rise in players. In 2-3 years a lot more people will feel the need to return there and go through the classic trilogy once again.
Only thing I want from Cata is pre nerf heroic dungeons. And anything else that was nerfed during the expansion. Rest should be as it was.
And BIG no to phasing the world. If you want to experience the classic world, we still have classic or hopefully WOTLK ERA servers. It makes no sense to phase the world, as its not just the look of it that changed but every quest related to the world changes. So just forget that bro.
Patch to Patch balancing. That is my biggest wish like we get real 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 patches, with balancing and stuff. Not like right now only damn masochist are playing retri palas XD
That’s only while levelling though, once you reach lvl60 Chromie drags you back to the main timeline. There’s also ziodorni (Spelling?) That lets you change zones individually. She’s already in Classic as she allows you to swap to Battle for Undercity.
I think that’s a given, since all the things we’ve gotten from WoTLK so far are pre-nerf.
Personally I’d like to see the talent system reworked. I liked some of my specs in Cata (Enh, arms and prot) but they made Ret and fury kind of dull.
I liked that specs became active at lower levels, but locking your points into specs kind of sucks.
How about no cata at all.
Cata will more than halve the classic payerbase while gain some portion of retail players maby.
But people who wanted classic in a first place will scatter back to private servers
Cata is basically retail, and you can play it right now in retail. ERA died for two very big reasons. 1. Ridiculus prices for keeping/copying characters. Yes even the lowered prices. 2. Alot of people who actually wanted to stay in era without copying character actually was afraid to be left on dead server so it was sort of snowball effect. I know because i whispered alooot of people asking that. And classic fans still are interested in it. Growing ERA population is living proof of that.
raid tuning (massive buffs) and additional tuning for each boss using 2 test raid groups on payroll: experienced raiders and raiders who have never tried Cataclysm
make legendary staff obtainable twice as fast
nerf legendary staff hard, fine tuning for each class.
tuning for prot warr/prot pal mastery (make these classes viable), increase their DPS
nerf STR scaling of UH DK pets, but buff other abilities to compensate (geared DKs should pump similar DPS, ungeared DKs should deal lower DPS)
buff Rsham Telluric Currents
And other changes, but 2 primary changes are first two: raid encounters need to be challenging (but not impossible), every boss should be tried over and over and over again, not just problematic/last bosses.
