I would like to swap names between my two characters. Since we are not able to purchase the name change in Classic, is there any way you can take/swap the name you already usenon one character and use it on the second?
I tried to delete one, name the other character with that name, but when I try to restore the character it says that character with that name already exists and it doesn’t give me the option to change the name. Basically I would have to delete the character to be able to restore deleted one.
Also asked a friend to name his character with the name of the character I deleted, but he can’t do it, because the character name is busy, even if that character is deleted.
So I am curious, is there any way to change/swap the name of your characters right now?
Yes, you can wait 30 days (maybe 60, dont remember exactly, you can search) and this name will be free so you can use it on friend account then restore.
Before there was tricky method with using other wow account on same bnet (so need pay 2nd sub, not friend account as it should be on same bnet), and you could create character on 2nd acc, alt-tab very fast and restore, but it was fixed some time ago
Also you can try to change name by massreporting (ask your guild to report your name for example), but i dont sure how much reports exactly needed for it, and also it can be risky
I deleted the character with the name I like and made another one with the same name, the problem is, since I am using the current name it doesn’t allow me to change the name when I am trying to restore it.
Will see how it will be in 30-60 days and will I be able to get the other name for deleted character or will still have to delete the current so I can restore the previous one.
