Morning all!
Bought a character boost the other day, payment was succesful and completed, when I’m trying to use it on an elegible character and go through the boosting process, the character stays at thier current level and the boost is still available.
I’ve cleared the local cache file, restarted the client, even clicked with my non-dominant hand, and no changes.
And thoughts or help?

What character are you trying to boost on what version of the game?
Retail restrictions:-
LIMITATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS
- You cannot purchase a character boost in another region
- This boost is not available in WoW Classic
- May not be available for limited-time game modes. Not available for Timerunning Characters
- Customer Support will not assist with any mistakes using a boost
- Allied Races - Boosted Allied Race characters will not earn Heritage Armor
- Character Services - It is not possible to buy a Character Transfer, Faction Change, or any other service for a character that has been boosted in the past 72 hours. Customer Support cannot bypass this restriction
- WoW Token - It is not possible to boost a character with a WoW Token in the inventory, bank, or mailbox
- Glyphs - Applied glyphs will be erased from your character when boosted
The only Classic Boost would be on Wrath of the Lich King Classic which is now in Cataclysm Prepatch mode.

Thanks for the reply.
The character is a lvl 45 DH on an EU server (that I play on with my EU account) that is on WoW live. Nothing weird or unusual.
The process for boosting the character allows me to select this character and go through the motions of bosting them. Afterwards the boost remains unused and the character remains at lvl 45.

If none of the obvious issues apply then I would try making a ticket to get a GM to look into it, the queue is quite long.

You can always cancel the ticket if you resolve the issue in the meantime.

That’s the route I’ve done as well.
But there was a slim hope folks here could offer some thoughts.

Same issue here! Very frustrating, we pay for a service and get charged for it but no delivery from Blizzard.
Made a ticket also.

For the heck of it, I installed Bnet and WoW fresh on a different computer of mine and attempted the Boost with no success there either.
From that test I feel that this isn’t an installation issue but something server-side.

Well, I got a response - as follows:
We understand you bought a boost and you can't use it with the character you want. Let us epxplain a couple of details that we search related to this issue.
If you recently applied another character service to your character (like a transfer or faction change), you must wait 72 hours before you can use a boost on it.
If you just purchased the boost or expansion upgrade in our Shop, you must wait until your payment is processed. This should take no more than 24 hours. You can keep track of the status of your order in your Transaction History.
I’ve issued a response clarifying that the payment was in fact, complete, and that boosts can apply to new characters too but clearly aren’t, along with a link to this forum thread. So let’s see what happens!

Hi,
I bought a 70’s boost early this morning and I can’t get it to work. I click the boost icon, it tells me to select the char I want to boost. I select then it asks what spec I want, then asks if I’m sure I want to go ahead. I press yes and nothing happens. The char is still level 1. I have even tried to make a total new char and it still won’t work. Any ideas please?

Same issue, in my case it’s not a level 1 character and I’ve tried all existing specialization with no different result.
I tried opening a support ticket - but that fails with “Something went wrong on our side” as well.

This is just not ok. You pay for a boost and nothing happens. They need to sort this out immediately.

After considerable back and forth with Blizzard Support, they’ve begrudgingly decided to admit that there is a bug with Boosts right now - but all they’ve done is suggest that we submit an ingame report.
Boosts are currently bugged and we aware of this, we would suggest to report it.
We dont have an ETA on the fix yet, keep an eye on our forums for any fixes.

I’ve got the same issue as well and opened a ticket that I’ve been going back and forth with support on for the past 24 hours.
After they blamed me a few times, suggesting various articles for fixing the local cache several times, one of the GMs said the following:
“Now, let me tell you that we are currently experiencing some issues regarding boosts that have not been fixed. Although you can submit a bug report in our forums to seek for a solution.”
It seems it’s a known issue. But the lvl 70 boosts can still be bought but they can’t be used and there’s no ETA on the fix.

I can confirm that They are working on it. its bugged out like hell, but they working on it atleast

Blizzard? Hello? I bought level 70 boost and when I select character and spec and click proceed, nothing happens. Character still level 1. I’ve seen on the forums that people have the same problem.
Blizz, this is a huge problem. You can’t expect for people to pay you 60 EUR and then not give them level boost service. Can you make it your prio for fix? People are getting frustrated and disheartened.

This is the reply I got early this morning.
There were a few mails before this one asking if I was trying to boost a Time thingy char.
Once they had established I wasn’t being blonde I received this one. I actually had to squint to read it :o
