First time I did the war campaign, I was unaware there was a choice. I simply followed the quests. This has lead me to supporting a character I dislike. There hasn’t been a choice system in WoW with these permanent effects, especially not one that would affect our character. Being unaware I had a choice, which I only found out after doing it on my second character, I’ve permanently ruined this part of the story because the game defaulted to Sauerfang instead of Sylvanas.
Thank you very much for not being able to revert this option.

You have posted on WoWhead which another poster pointed out that you’ve ignored a very big warning box which also explained that this cannot be undone, that Zekhan will remember this, etc etc:
Edit: I was quite sure this quest had a warning box so I was looking for verification on WoWhead where I saw the above poster.

It was also all over all the WoW news sites that it would be a binary choice that could not be undone.
So I guess you actually didn’t care, because you didn’t care to even read the news sites.

Because everyone sees this? I did not at that time.
And as I’ve explained there (perhaps not clearly enough), the warcampaign did not feature choices. There was never a concept of choice. There was just “this is an orange quest, you must do it”. So this is what I did. I was not aware of choices at that point and Blizzard did an extremely poor job conveying this. Yes it gave a pop-up, but let me remind you that warcampaign (orange quest markers) were never a choice, they were never optional. I did not know I was able to skip this quest and change the outcome
Blizzard did an extremely poor job of telling people this was optional, and this frustrates me to no end because it ruined the story for me.

Horde bias at its best.
We don’t have an option to stick with Night Elves and deny helping Alliance on their stupid attempts to make peace with Horde. We should have been given an option to stay hostile towards Horde.
And why don’t u read the main story line quests? And now complaining about it.

Well it will likely only matter for one more patch (patch 8.3 or whatever comes out in the end.) Then it will be down to waiting the launch of the new expac and all of BFA will no longer matter.

Again. As I grow increasingly tired of telling people. If you had watched the whole of that cgi movie you would have heard Saurfang bluntly tell Anduin there will probably NEVER be peace between the Horde and the Alliance. All this story ending has done is provided a very brief ceasefire because a major character died.
But I guess “My Little Pony” is a hot potato on the internet right now and the internet being what it is has just decided to jump on that bandwagon and trundle along quite happily blissfully unaware.
By the way.
Stroll into Orgrimmar. I’m sure they will welcome you with open arms.
Do it next expansion, and I’m sure you’re right.

I think prob the popup actually signifies that it’s not just a standard quest…but a choice in the story.
Well thats basically a big fat lie.
During the hunting for saurfang, you were given / warned multiple times that your choices will do this or do that.
Just because you mindlessly click on everything and didnt read anything, dont blame the system for it.
Also in the end it doesnt matter, since in the end, everyone is the same “side” agan.
Blizzard gave yet another illusion of player choice and some people took that too seriously…

i belive there is a way to redeem your self when you fight the orc cant remeber his name etrig i belive. if you talk with him you have to choose :this is stupid lets go to thrall and an other choice is to capture him.
