Tbh, the fact that the war campaign ending has different quests for loyalists compared to rebels is pretty good. The choice mattered, if only a little. And it’s going to continue to matter for only a little, but that’s all that is needed. Also those who played the ending with warmode on probably saw loyalists and rebels were hostile, even if both were horde.
so many dramaqueens, my god.
Oh no thats horrible, sad to say it but your only option now is to delete the character.
I was aware of the choice. Just didn’t know exactly when i’d choose. I thought it would be something like demon hunter’s early quests where a screen pops up and you choose a side.
But as it turned out, you either had to click on a speech bubble in the middle of the quest chain, or just follow the quest chain. It was more like a hidden feature than a choice.
I’d literally have paid to have my character punch Anduin in his face for behaving the way he did. Should’ve let the Horde sort out their own mess for once, then swoop in afterwards and murder whoever remained.
Caveat emptor…
Can you change the thread totle to ‘character permanently ruined cos i cba to read’?
There was an option to accept the quest and one other option to say “i’m not betraying my warchief” or something like that. Not really Blizzard’s fault that you are rushing through story questlines without reading the story.
That’s the problem if people don’t read quests. I went with supporting Sylvanas. It was the only real choice to make.
You dont read the text, moan how your experience is ruined, doesnt make sense cause if you read you would be immersed you had warning windows you ignored inside the game. And now you moan on the forums how you failed all the while being entitled for actually being lazy…
One thing that is kinda weird is that, if you do go down the Sylvanas loyalist route, you’re given multiple options to change sides, but if you start by picking Saurfang you’re never given the opportunity to switch back. So Blizz seem to expect that people’s feelings towards Sylvanas would change over time but not their feelings towards Saurfang and Baine, even as they buddy up more and more with the alliance, which some players may not like. Seems like Blizz really want to force you to pick team Saurfang
Holy browsers, i do not remember this at all and i did all quests as of yesterday and watched the cinematic, then did the wrathion quests. Weird. Was it not mandatory to select ? Maybe i didnt select and the game defaulted to saurfang ? Or it was so insignificant i totally erased it from my mind
Players should not be expected to read news sites to be able to know what is going on in a game that they’re actively playing.
Btw I don’t play Retail so I have no idea if there is a warning in game, or if it is very clear. I’m merely stating that basic information regarding this should not require reading the news. Especially when you consider that new players in the future would be very unlikely be going out of their way to read out of date news.
Sounds like a YOU problem.
I would think that POP UP BOX says enough, and if you don’t get the hint from that, I don’t know what they could have done to make it EVEN MORE CLEAR TO YOU that you were making a choice. A second pop up box?
No they didn’t, it was pretty damn clear. YOU are the one who just rushed through it.
It literally says in the pop-up box that you will be UNABLE to complete alternative quests.
“It” didn’t. You ruined it for yourself. Stop blaming others for your own actions, mr.victim.
Did you not get that popup box? Report bug and open a ticket.
Otherwise this is a clear example of;
Problem Is Between Chair And Keyboard
To say your character is permanently ruined is an exaggeration. I am not going to comment about how much notice you get for the choice because ive not done it (very tempted to level my hordie now to do that questline) but IF, I mean IF, the consequences of that decision go beyond the next patch i am betting there will be at least one more chance to change your mind in the fallout from the events at Orgrimmar.
The post was originally in the CS forum before someone moved it here so no stalking involved.
I explained you why I didn’t know it was a problem. It doesn’t make it a “me” problem, that makes it poor UX on blizzard’s side.
What alternative quests? There were no alternative quests. There was simply an orange quest and the pure definition of orange quests is: “they are not optional, they are part of the story”.
Blizzard should’ve used a different quest marker for this, and not make it orange. The pure definition of the quest type has been changed for this particular “choice” and that’s why I didn’t understand it at first.
Don’t blame me for blizzard making it unclear. This is my feedback to blizzard. Something that’s obvious to you, might not be to others.
And no, the textbox popup was not clear enough. To me it read that same as the WoD starting quest, not optional.
That’s quite the tunnel vision you got there it seems.
Still doesn’t change the fact that you simply click about w/o a thought.
That’s the problem here and it is in fact on you.
I know that when you click the speech bubble option to choose the Sylvanas loyalist side you get a warning saying that you won’t get the cloak toy and that Zekhan will remember this, but I can’t recall if you get a similar warning if you just click the accept button. At other stages in the campaign, you’ll get quest which have parts labelled “optional” for if you want to go and tell Nathanos what Baine et al are plotting
