Character transfers disabled in Era

Hi,

I recently transferred my main to from PVE EU on Era to PVP EU due to the PVE server more or less dying after fresh was announced.

I thought I’d do some farming for a few days since the server was pretty much empty before transferring my three 60 alts + summoner network (9 characters total)

I finished my farming, only to find today that the in game shop shows ‘No Items Currently Available’ if you try to buy a transfer token and returns a Lua error. The Bnet shop also does not work if you try to do it from a browser.

Why would you randomly disable paid transfers (which was working 1 week ago) without a hint of a warning? I am trying to give Blizzard money to get off this dead server and I am unable to. This will straight up get me to quit, please reconsider this move.

There is a 90 days cooldown on transfers, I don’t know if that is what triggers the LUA error you are getting?

Nevertheless, even without that LUA error you would’nt be able to transfer away unless a free server transfer is offered.

You can/could always transfer with a …paid transfer, from PvE to PvP and vice-versa, no matter what.

However, you might be right about the cooldown, which … can be true to OP.

90 day transfer CD is for the same character. That’s not what I’m trying to do here.

I have different alts on entirely different accounts that I’m trying to transfer, but Blizzard without warning took away that function.

I suspect it’s to do with the new fresh servers since on those they won’t allow you to transfer between the different realms, and they couldn’t come up with a way to prevent you from using the tokens on the new realms, and Era pays the price.

Yes I know. What i mean was: He can’t use a paid transfer since it is on CD.
Free transfers ignore cooldown, so that would have worked if a FTC was available.

Ah, I misunderstood you then. I htought you moved some chars over and wanted to move them away again.

Are you trying to transfer to some of the realms being closed? (obviously, transfers are disabled there)

I had four 60’s and multiple summoners on the PVE Era cluster.

After the fresh announcement, the PVE server died. So I transferred one of my 60’s, my main, to the PVP cluster which is much more active.

I am now trying to transfer the rest of my characters to the active PVP server, but they don’t give you that option anymore. There’s no way to purchase a transfer token.

According to a Blizzard post in the US Forums they have removed the paid transfer service from era because they are useless now since all realms in era are connected.(?)

Obviously this is fake news. Not all realms are connected. I wanted to transfer today from a low pop pvp server to another to join a guild there that is still activ.
But I cant buy any transfer service anymore. You can only use free transfer to go to the FM Cluster or the big PVE Cluster.

Its a shame. Nobody asked for this. I should also be able to go on spending my money if I want to. I hope they are going to change this asap. Era isnt dead just because of three fresh realms and we should be allowed to play on whatever server we want to.

Update:

So the quality assurance manager on the US forums has said they will pass the feedback about wanting paid transfers back to the team.

Can we get any EU rep to do the same please?

This is Blutmond’s desperate prayer to the faceless powers that guide the destinies of the European Classic Era realmpool Heartstriker-Venoxis-Dragon’s Call.

Nigh three summers past the world has changed drastically over a single night. We woke in empty cities with our guild tabards pale and grey, wondering whether we might ever again measure our skills against the mighty evils that lurk in Azeroth’s dungeons and instances.

Not a day had passed however, when a brave leader of the pack had gathered together what little forces remained. He formed the German guild “Blutmond” and set out to strengthen its members by taking on the Soulflayer in the temple city of Zul’Gurub. Supported by seasoned raidleaders, Blutmond soon progressed to smother the fiery elementals in Molten Core, rid Blackwing Lair of its dragonspawn and cleanse the ruins and temple of Ahn’Qiraj of its insect infestations.

In early spring 2022, Blutmond was ready to enter the floating necropolis of Naxxramas and tackle the undead. With unrelenting patience and willpower, Blutmond’s colourful assembly eventually achieved steady weekly full clears of all instances. We unite WoW veterans and greenhorns, minmaxers and memespeccers, fulltimers and parttimers, as well as people of different origins and tongues all under one banner. Our community has thrived by an unrivalled spirit of sharing and caring, where those who own stock, skills and resources provide for those who have little or nought. Committed heroes have carried our raids through many a hard season. Our leaders have established an intricate rule system which ensures fair and generous participation, loot distribution and conflict resolution.

We proudly believe to have kept alive the true WoW Classic spirit.

However those past seasons various adversities have started to haunt our realmpool. Most threatening of all a surge of soulless beings, come to drain our resources. They bear unspeakable letters for names, need not rest or sleep and possess inhumane capabilities of finding and gathering herb and ore. We call them “Bots”. In the beginning we desperately addressed the powers that govern our world, including our tormentors names in our prayers, but to no avail. Our pleas went unanswered and the invasion only grew. The resources we so direly need to muster the necessary strength to keep the evils of Azeroth in check are being carried off to a faraway place called Firemaw, which is driven by a toxic capitalistic economy that has no place for the poor, the weak or the different. From time to time, we are forced to send a brave traveller to this hell to buy goods which can no longer be gathered because of the Bot-plague.

A fortnight ago, without warning, the bridge between our two realms has shattered one way and some of our travellers are since stranded far away with no possibility to return. Firemaw-“misfits” who have sought refuge on our peaceful realm every now and then now have nowhere to turn to, while the parasites that drain our realms are still allowed to carry away our resources unhindered.

We have carried many a burden without resentment or outcry. However this latest doom shakes our carefully built and sustained community to the core and threatens to ruin our existence. Thus we must take our last stand and turn to those all-powerful beings, hoping they might bless us with grace and justice:

Please reinstall paid transfer from and to our realmpool, so that our lost brothers and sisters as well as Firemaw-refugees may join us and strengthen our ranks once again, while the plague might be eradicated.

Thank you.

Yes please bring the transfer back!

I’m stuck with my main on Zandalar Tribe which has now completly died after the new fresh servers release. I would like to transfer to Firemaw to keep playing my character. Paid or free I don’t care!

BRING IT BACK.

When Classic Era launched, we had the opportunity to play our beloved game the way we always wanted. Even though we are a small community on Dragon’s Call-Heartstriker-Venoxis, we remain very active and try to clear the content regularly.
Every now and then, we attracted new players from Firemaw who were tired of GDKPs and constant griefing. We were very happy to welcome them into our little oasis. Unfortunately, gold farmers and bots have taken advantage of our low-population cluster, making it hard to farm raid consumables nowadays. We reported the bots day in and day out, but nothing changed. One solution to this problem was to purchase some consumables on the Firemaw auction house and then take a paid transfer back. We were willing to spend money just to keep going and survive as a community.

By disabling the paid transfer while keeping the free transfer to Firemaw, you:
a) take away our chance to bring in new players from other servers,
b) remove our ability to counter the bot plague, and
c) give up revenue for no apparent reason.

Since the assumption that all servers are connected is totally false anyway, you must reconsider your decision.
