I’ve made a macro to help with this!

It will get rid of the dialog and enable chat in one click

/click StaticPopup1Button2
/run  C_SocialRestrictions.SetChatDisabled(false)  print(format("Chat: Enabled!"))

This macro is great. It’s the first thing I do after login is click the macro button.
Did BWL with 3 trials last night. Wish I had the macro then. Kept getting the popup in middle of boss fights.

Thanks for sharing, Amaada. Going to mark this as a solution for now just for the visibility, though rest assured we continue to work on the underlying issue and a permanent solution.

I appreciate the effort, but there is no need to make tickets for this as support wouldn’t be able to offer any solutions. The developers are aware of the problem and just need a little more time to implement a fix.

This macro worked for me until today, now when I click the macro, on screen it says chat enabled, but I have to go in settings in my chat box, and select enable chat, to be able to chat in game

The macro still works for me, but here’s another that will at least tell you if it worked or not

I have the same issue. I thought I was going mad. Also in UK using Three 5G internet. Sort it out blizz this is ridiculous.

This all began after what i think was a patch on t he 19/11/24
I’m fine on Cata classic , but any version of classic vanilla I’m bugged too

I did all the normal in situatioins like this , of course we’re not to know that GMs can’t sort out these kinds of issues , but if like me you’re a veteran then you know where to start when trying to sort this issiue out.
It’s when GMs don’t seem to read response and repeat everything I’ve told them I’ve tried lol.

dear blizz devs could you get your fingers out and fix the chat disabling bug it’s annoying when your trying to tank a dungeon and it repeated;y keeps spamming me with a big stupid screen its been over a week now and it’s not getting any better.
If your car broke down every 5 miles i’ll bet you would be getting pissed off too.

This is still an issue. The macro that was marked as a “solution” is not a solution, it just makes an issue slightly less annoying but the problem is still there and keeps occurring during the game. Is there any ETA on the actual fix please?

I’m hoping before I need to resub , it’s been an issue after a patch two weeks this Tuesday surely that’s a place to start
