She was supposed to send me a christmas card so when postman knocked on my door I was very excited. I opened envelope and it was a picture of dog poop signed “eat it moron”.

It is Blizzard’s problem if people are leaving like they have been recently.

People can complain either way.
6 month has the best value per month, assuming you actually last.
1 month is the smallest amount but also the most expensive.

I see it this way - people are more likely to realize that they won’t play 6 months, and click away, as opposed to realizing the lack of discount. Although, in 6 months you are bound to have inactivity so it’s more like 5 months, so there is little discount but convenience - and the extra perks recently. Plus, the last (and only) time I paid for 6 months being convinced I’ll be devoted and happy I was inactive for about 3.

It could be the best of both worlds if they wouldn’t auto pick anything, and maybe show the price per month visually. But it might be overkill, unless some UX guy wants to practice for the sake of practice.

Also, looking at the screenshot by Punyelf it might be sensible to add a set of radio buttons to communicate the choice after all. It’s so flat design it may hide the functionality.

What that people fail to understand what is on their screen?

Do you want Blizzard to dumb it down so much for such people that they have it in pictures that belong in an ABC book for pre schoolers?

OHHH I see what you’re driving at. That Blizzard have lost so much subscribers due to people being unable to understand a basic screen.

I’m surprised those people know which end of the cup to have topside.

Quite the opposite surely. They’ve tricked so many people into six month subs according to some in this discussion. So Blizz should have lots of unwilling subscribers.

On a serious note what would people need to see the six, three and one month options more clearly? Bigger size font for the month numbers? Different colour? Confirmation popup?

You going off one one there SD. All jokes to the side people have been leaving for llots of different reasons. To much keavers if yu ask me. I think you are typing uncociously to make others look or feel silly. I don’t really understand you. Can you perhaps not reply while full of emotion? Emotions and internet do not mix. Or lay of the drink while you come here.

Don’t you need to put your password in to confirm your purchase? been a while since I subbed and I forgot but I’m fairly sure last time I resubbed it asked me to put my password in and then to confirm the purchase again after that before taking the money and certainly tells you what you are buying and gives you the option to cancel if you’ve clicked the wrong thing

Actually, Blizz are very good at refunding your money if you have made a mistake purchase.

It’s probably the only area of their customer service where they don’t mess around and are prompt in responding to you.

The longest I have had to wait regarding a refund of IRL money was 1 hour and the refund was put through immediately without question.

(Repeating from my post above)
Radio buttons in front of the options to make it clear what they are.

I am not sure what difference that would make if they are struggling to identify the length of the sub they are signing up for.

Honestly, I think this is just a “Beat on Blizz because beat on Blizz”, kinda thread.

It’s pretty clear what’s on offer. They just want to blame Blizz for their own illiteracy.

You are probably right.

It highlights the offer (light grey) you are choosing and the price/timescale confirmation changes directly above the subscribe button depending on what you have selected. They have highlighted in green where a saving is applicable.

Six Month

Three Month

One Month

I don’t find it’s confusing however there is always room for human error.

And this is one of the most ridiculous reasons I’ve heard for a very long time.

No. Not unconsciously. If people are unable to follow very basic instructions on a screen in front of them and I make them feel silly by pointing that out… That’s not my problem.

Again. Not my problem if you couldn’t understand what I typed when practically everyone else did.

Unless you’re just trying to score an internet point.

In which case. knock yourself out with it.

if you think that was filled with emotion… Oh lord. But curious. That is the 4th time today I have seen that particular string of thought creep into people’s replies. Perhaps this is the new buzzword fashion the internet has latched onto this week? Here. Have another internet point. You’re on a roll chief. Think you can get a hat trick?

Well. I would stay off the internet then if I were you, you may not like it.

I don’t drink but thank you for the advice. Allow me to give you some advice.

Don’t try and defend people who lack the common sense to read before they hit accept.

Can I stop being emotional now and get back to downing my 3rd bottle of OVD?

The reason 6 month option being highlighted is because it’s a marketing strategy and is unlikely to change. Whatever is deemed to make the best profit will stay.

While true the cost per month is “best value” with the attachment of a bonus to it on a regular basis, you’ll lose if you get tired of the game after say, 3 months and there’s 3 left on your running subscription. So in fact, bending the truth.

The sad thing is, during Shadowlands the content doesn’t last 6 months. I’m 2 months into 9.2 and there’s not a lot left that I want to do.

At least during previous expansion the content lasted long enough to enjoy a 6 month sub.

That’s problematic. You know something is bad when it’s written in green.
