I am softlocked in my tailoring profession. I can not make the intermediate azure/chrono cloth items I need to progress because i chose the wrong second specialization, and I can not afford to buy them.
The UI does not make it obvious that the two points in the “Needlework” tree will make the cloth that will be needed later.
I guess i am just screwed until I can somehow farm tailoring to 75 and I can open up the next specialization tree?
Well, the whole profession system is somewhat scuffed. The overwhelming difference between spending your points “right” and “wrong”, where you can either be crafting some top piece right now and making yourself fat stacks or you lock yourself out and will have to wait for months to craft - at that point - irrelevant gear, is just too much. They will first dump lots of kpoints on you and make you feel like: “hey, I’ll just put that wherever I feel like then?” and then they make you “sober up”, when you realise you will have to work hard for every single subsequent point. You only realise how important it is to get this right, when it’s too late. Might as well roll new character and do it again
Hello, I got same problem. Went full farm build and now im sitting at 60 skill with no possible way to reach 75 to go into draconic. There is no way that i found to reach that 75 skill. Since knowledge points does not give you skill in crafting in tailor there is a loophole where farmers which did same cannot progress beyond lvl 65 in Tailoring. I wrote a ticket to GM and He/She just linked me wow head guide for tailoring.
This needs more recognition from developers because this is just they didnt notice. Most ppl went for draconic and additional recipes as second or first spec in tailoring. But some of us farmers went the other way and now we will be stuck for a long time…
Quoting reply from GM from my ticket (nickname removed):
Hello there, I hope you are well.
My name is Game Master D****** and I wanted to answer your ticket about the specialisation for your profession.
Apologies for the delay in a reply, it’s very busy at the moment but we’re working hard on getting that back to normal as soon as possible
When you choose profession specialisations in the game it will confirm that you are selecting them before locking them in place.
Specialisation unlocks and knowledge points cannot be reset, these choices are permanent and will persist through abandoning the profession you had so even if you drop and re-learn it, your specialisations will remain.
The Customer Support team is unable to adjust or refund those points, all decisions made in those specialisations are final.
For hints and tips on spending those points, fansites such as Wowheadcom have fantastic guides like this (which also warn that those choices are permanent) - link here
Thank you for reading and for your understanding on this, good luck with your profession in the future! " - End quote
