Howdy. Could we get Chromie time lvling for players at lvl +50 players so we can enjoy all the old zones while lvling to 60. It’s getting quite repetive lvling in the 4 Shadowlands zones would be much better to enjoy all the old zones while lvling since there are more than +50 zones in the game. This could also be a stepping stone forward in newer expansion that you could lvl in old zones to max lvl but perhaps needed to lvl 5 characters to max lvl in the new expansion before you can lvl to max lvl in the old zones in the newer expansion.
No just no if you are really tired of the zones just farm dungeons or pvp. I don’t want to get back to those zones. Shadowlands rules forever
You do you.
You can do it if you use Party Sync option with someone who is below 50 and uses Chromie Time.
I’v got special 49 XP locked character to get my guildies in old zones and play them the as they were meant to be played.
Would be fun but not gonna happen. Blizzard wants to have control where players are in those last levels.
You can even Party Sync with with yourself. Create a new WoW account. Don’t give it any gametime. Level a character to 10 or 20. Now, on your main account, party with your free low-level character. Leave the low-level’s session minimised and enjoy levelling as a 20 in whichever expansion!
However, it does introduce awkwardness. I agree that Blizzard should just let people above 50 do it directly by entering Chromie Time without the second-account workaround. Threads is pretty unattractive.
Just because you dont want to doesnt mean that there shouldnt be an option for that. You dont have to do the chromie leveling to 60 in that case.
Im neutral in this regard whether they do that or not. However i would at least want an requirement for that (1 toon at 60 for instance. In the very least). On the other side i might be more interested in leveling more alts because i sincerely cba to level several classes due to being bored out of the shadowlands leveling.
Does this really work?
I tried it when they brought out Party Sync in BfA, and it did.
It might have been patched out since then, but I levelled one of my alts 110 to 120 partly in Duskwood!
It’s possibly been patched out now. I tried earlier this week with my level 51 hunter and a newly created level 1 character. In BFA I could level through the likes of Elwynn. In SL the same quests were all flagged as low level, and were worth a whopping 50XP.
It might still be possible to level like this in BFA content (since that scales to 50), but given how experience gains dropped off a cliff once I my hunter hit 50 I decided not to give it a try. It may also still work if you enable Chromie time with the low level character but I never thought to give it a go until now.
Chromie Time might have changed the structure. Might be worth a look.
I’ve just tried Chromie time (Cataclysm). It did sync up the quests but not all grant XP, and those that do reward around 600 – 900 XP (about the same as BFA quests gave at level 51).
With party sync active I was unable to enter the BFA zones with my hunter. Every time I tried to go to Kul’Tiras I was teleported back to Stormwind Keep (even after the level 10 completed Come Sail Away). Thankfully it didn’t kick me back to Stormwind when I enabled party sync while already in Kul’Tiras but the quest XP is about the same as Elwynn (600–1000 XP).
So it looks like it is possible but it requires more than a couple of zones like it did in BFA.
If only the daily pvp win didn’t award as much xp as a random open world quest…
I’d like Chromie time up to lv 60 too.
I would like Chromie to switch entire world to old values or level 60, so the entire world could be endgame content. Grinding rewardless dailies if you are exalted is just meh. And the gated anima grind is also meh. No reason to play for me after certain point.
Honestly at this point, reps should be account wide. Or at least boosted for an alt, like Tillers where you get doubled gains across the account.
i wouldnt mind this with outland chromie time up to lvl 60 too
Which is lame. According to their “design” players should leave the content they had preferred asap once they ding 50. LFG\LFR is removed, the quests become “trivial and low-lv” (even when they are not due to the screwed 50-60 scaling). The more types of content a player enjoys (digging, gathering, pvp, dungeons etc) - the sooner they get denied all of that. The only way to play the content in a normal way is to freeze the exp on 49, but not many people even know that this feature exists.
Imo, Chromie time should not be tied to the player level, but rather to the content progression. E.g. if I’m playing Legion - turn my legion-chromie-time off once I clear the Antorus (at the very least -finish all the main non-raid storylines), not once I hit some number mid-expansion. That’s even more vital for the characters, who are playing the content for their first time. Jumping through all those sync and\or xp freeze hoops to enjoy content in a normal way is ridiculous.
Players interested in a specific expansion are not going to leave it for SL on 50 anyway, and those who want SL are going to play their SL.
This goes hand in hand with horizontal progression.
I don’t see what’s the fuss about leveling from 50 to 60 in the current expansion, at least from a skillset perspective. Story-wise, sure, but again, just lock stuff behind storylines, problem solved.
One silly element is interaction between old and new gear, earning a set of 60 epics or even legendaries in old content. I guess this is an unresolvable issue between folks loving horizontal and others with vertical progression.
Then again, thinking about some complicated solutions, I just remembered the biggest cheat of them all, Timewalking dungeons.
Being able to play whichever expansion you desire would be neat.
But really - the whole Chromie time is a complicated partial double-scaling solution which only really helps the group finder. (But the UI could default to the instances relevant to your current location, with the additional all option.)
As I don’t care about premium content I only wish for level 50.
An elegant solution would be to stop earning XP from 50 onwards, and gain bits of gold instead, as if you were at the end of an expansion. Gold aside the solution already exists with starter accounts (characters).
Can this be done with an alt? Probably not but just checking…
