What is the logic behind pricing it at 10g?
I think it’s really weird and counter productive.
10g per use for something that’s introduced to try and change behaviour.

The game needs goldsinks.
Great gold sink, not a big one, but better than nothing. Also: It hits the right players. Raiders are used to spendig a lot for raiding anyway. And they will pay this price. Did you want it to be free?
Not sure if you were joking but but
What is great with a goldsink?
If the devs want to encourage a certain behaviour then I think it is counterproductive to attach a 10g cost to it.
Now I will have to choose between running around collecting buffs and then raidlog.
Or
Running around collecting buffs and then pay 10g for it. Three times a week.
The main issue I have is the stated attempt at make raidlogging not needed, to enable people to play the game…being “solved” like this.
And on a personal note…
Me not being particularly full of gold will then still have to do the bufftrain and then raidlog. Otherwise I’ll sadly be broke after a few weeks of 30g per week.
It’s only 10g and in exchange for being able to actually play the game instead of staying logged out…?
You’d earn 10g back easily.
You raid 3 times a week?
How exactly will you be poor after 30g per week though…?
You’ll gain back 40g-50g per raid in basic gold from raid anyway?
What isn’t great about a gold sink?
People have thousands upon thousands of gold.
Then, what would you propose you do?
So you pay 10g for one of these… then you can… you know farm for gold instead of staying raid logged?
I personally see no issue with anything you’re saying other than you’re unable to farm gold?
Instead of staying logged out, you can earn gold instead?
Why was there 0 mention of gold until its release? Or did I just miss that?
Feels cheap to ‘fix’ something and then charge ppl if they wanna benefit from the ‘fix’.
Having to pay gold is not going to incentivise me to play more, on the contrary. I’ve done everything I wanted to in classic already. Guess I’m still raidlogging. A penny saved is a penny earned boys.
Edit: i’ve always hated wbuffs and hated feeling forced to get them, why the heck would i spend 10g if i’m still forced to get them.
Because decsions have consequences. If people are paying 15g a summon to places to get the buffs, why not pay 10g to store them?
It’s so people don’t have to stay logged out and can actually play their characters.
10G is nothing, since you’ll gain more gold back by being able to farm it / get it back from the raid
If you’re not gonna play the game anyway, why would this chrono’s cost affect you at any point?
hmm. maybe make antichrono, make it 100g cost, it will show enemy target buffs and boom. It will make good gold sink for wpvpers and griefers.
Cant find the quote button so…
I do not gain back 40g-50g per raid. Perhaps a few g but thats it.
Goldsinks: So the logic is that goldsinks are great because some people have thousands of gold? I dont agree. Especially in this case when it works against the stated goal of the feature.
What I would propose: If a feature is introduced to incentivize a certain behavior, then do not attach gold costs to it.
If the stated goal was to have people farming back the 10g instead of being raidlogged then the logic would hold. But i assume anyone reading that realizes that it was most likely not the intention of it all.
Well my guild expects everybody to keep their buffs stored now in naxx until the easy bosses are down. So it does affect me. What a joke
If I can save a copper then I will do what I need to do to save that copper. This 10g requirement is ridiculous. As many people (including myself) have already pointed out, the chronoboon does not fix the world buff meta, it creates a new world buff meta, only now it costs 10g.
It’s one of the many things blizzard puts in that I don’t really care about. But when it creates a new meta, obviously people are going to want to follow the meta, like my guild, and I’m sure many others. Now I gotta pay 10g per raid AND still do the weekly super boring full buff run? Thanks blizzard.
If people are paying 15g… That obviously varies greatly between servers. Or are you saying the price of stuff on one server shall dictate prices on stuff on all servers? Which server should be the one setting the levels? What if there is a server where people are paying 1000g for a summon? Or not at all?
And about decisions having consequences…Yes of course decisions have consequences. However I cant see how that is relevant to the logic of introducing a feature that is counterproductive to the stated goal.
If you don’t want to pay the measely 10g then don’t?
Tell your guild you’re not willing to spend that money and raid log instead like really you’re just creating issue’s where this is none.
You used to raid log before so just continue to do so.
Reread this. I can’t just not use it, cause then I can’t save my buffs for the hard bosses like my guild wants, so we can one night naxx without having to rebuff.
I’m still going to raidlog, I’m just forced to pay 10g per raid now so I can follow the meta like my guild (and blizzard) wants.
Sigh.
The purpose of the chronoboon is to make it so that the game mechanics do not incentivize people to not play the game.
ugh…actually…just go read the thread and the blue posts on the topic.
It’s 10g if you two are that butthurt over it then this game just isn’t for you.
You can make 10g from literally 5 mins of any content so why you’re making this big a deal is beyond me.
Go touch some grass sometime this year.
They actually made it worse for me, and I’m sure there’s more people like me.
I’m still going to raidlog, and I’m lowkey forced to use the displacer simply for the function of keeping the buffs until later in the raid. Bad design.
I really liked this change if it were free though. Made a lot more sense that way too.
But it’s 10g for nothing.
Wanna mail me 10g every week? No reason. It’s only 10g right?
Exactly.
But a number of people here seem unable to grasp the failed logic of how the chrono system is set up.
It’s 10g to keep buffs stored get over it or don’t use it.
Your making a big issue out of nothing.
You two can circle jerk all day but the item will stay remain as 10g and you two are just gonna have to live with it till tbc arrives.
