Hi what do you think about adding Quality of live improvements to classic wow.
To classic era, HC and SoD.
Or would they break the immersion and the classiness ?
Improvements like:
Items have vendor prices.
Focus target with cast bars.
Enemy health points/% display.
2v2/3v3/5v5 arena.
LFG tool. Only the option to post that you created a group for questing/raiding/custom/dungeon. With description and you can pick who to invite and people click to join. You do everything manually. In a sense instead of reading spammed chat you have a tool for that. Nothing more. Absolutely nothing more.
Meeting stone summoning. Requires 2 players to be at the stone to summon other members.
Bug fixes… Fishing contest give ins, Tanaris mob evaders, rogue stealth saying you move 30% slower when you move 25% if you have talent and etc.
Maybe some quests showing on map.
Threat % on target or tool tip.
Dual talent spec. But only dual no more.
Instant mail via alts/guilds.
Guild banks.
I know some of these might be too much and remove the classiness but some might be ok what do you think? can you add more ? The idea would be not to use add-ons have some simple improvements without braking classic or making it feel too retail like. Have the best of both worlds
After rereading what I wrote I think I just want a permanent TBC realm…
After seeing the Guild UI “QOL” feature I will say straight up NO THANKS.
Blizzard should use the Seasonal realms for experiments and leave Era alone.

Evading mobs due to the mob spawning inside a tent that the mob can’t walk out should be easy to solve by reprogaming the mob to spawn right next to it’s tent instead of inside. This should have been done since 2019 Classic and I already asked for this bug fix when they did the fix to swimming mobs (usually murlocs) sinking through the floor.
1, 2 and 3 are already addons.
LFG tool no matter if it’s blizz implemented or coming from an addon breaks the social friction of having to talk to people to form a group, wich makes the game less sociable and more individualistic.

No dual spec on Era. Hard. Imagine rogues going from hemo to daggers and viiceversa during a blind depending on what class they are fighting against. Or a mage switching from frost to pom pyro during a sheep. Or any classic switching talents in a rocket helm. Not only it’s OP, it changes too much the way the game is played.

Arenas in Classic Era? come on, it’s TBC content, it’s the most out of place suggestion along with the dual spec one. Remember when classic Era was anounced the Blizzard post said “Classic Era will not recieve expansion content”. For me, thats the reason why i play Classic Era.
TLDR: yes to 7, Bug fixes and expansion content are a different thing. Evading mobs in tents should have been fixed already, long time ago. All others, NO.
I get your points. Don’t get me wrong not trying to make classic as retail. I don’t want retail or cata retail I liked and like classic and I’d love TBC.
Why not make em not addons?
Same no addons, maybe settings option to display quests I do understand this might kill immersion, but also majority of old classic players probably know where to go or what to do by heart. Could be a toggle.

Yea the arena thing is more for PvP and the dual spec I was sorta thinking swap in raids/dungeons/Capital cities not in world/bg/duel.
Also maybe cap CC at 10s.
Now the LFG tool you are right it can break the social aspect but honestly I tried writing in /World to start a chat discussion random things and I tried /LFG to get a group it’s hard and you end up spamming. Keeping in mind I play HC so chat is really empty and if someone is LFM you see it every 10 min and the person is like looking for a couple of hours for WC. So the tool might fix it in terms of instead of looking in chat you look at it no spam. Same in classic era, spam in chat and tbh discord. So I take it majority of my ideas are implemented by 3rd party option. But if done right they could be an improvement? Drawing a line after woltk expansion.
Maybe like Classic + with these qol things. New content but not Dark portal different approach to new zones, same classic pace. Same stat scaling idk.
Because not everyone plays with addons. In fact, quite a lot of people on era play with no addons in purpouse. Some play with no addons at all. I myself avoid certain addons (i don’t use spy, details, and a bunch others)
Some people don’t wanna use questie, because they don’t want to have a marker showing them where to do a quest. They wanna read the quest and figure it out on their own, because for them, this is part of the challenge of the game.
If you turn questie into a base feature of the game, you make it so that these people would have to download an addon to hide it. Like whats happening now with the new guild UI.
Because some of us play on Era because the game is supoused to not change. For the past 3 years it has changed very little, and the changes were against our will. We want it to not change at all, or as little as possible.
Best QoL would be removing any pvp and pve (AI) assisted Addons. e.i., enemy Cooldowns counters and weakauras, threat meters for pvp or pve.
Classic vanilla wasnt really designed with mind on those. Basicaly its making classic way too easy and there is zero prediction or gaming gamble.
People say classic is too easy, but they keep forgeting they cheat difficulty with addons and pretends it modern era gaming. While its RNG based game in many aspects, doesnt make sense at all be so serious about those addons or even use them for vanilla content.
Also just no everything you mentioned. I came play closest vanilla experience that is offered by Blizzard. Not any clone of retail or aftervanilla expansion.
Sir, let’s clarify one thing: Blizzard sees Era as a way to capitalize on nostalgia and milk you for as long as possible. They will not allocate any resources on it.
All I wished for was wow 2 or vanilla+ but not SOD that for me seems like classic but with TBC spells. I thought why not expand on the “what if” We never entered the dark portal, what if not the legion but the old ones are here. What if we keep the magic, the interest, the slow pace that is needed in this world , the game for gamers and expand idk. Something like that with qol of today.
