Let’s talk about the meta and non meta classes and what it does to the game.
When people start to play a MMORPG game does they choose a character that fits their fantasy style example magic, sword, dark magic and so on.
And WoW isn’t a exception, people like to play what feel the most true to them.
But as soon that you hit max level in WoW and want to try endgame does the meta wall hit people, do you play survival or destro? Holy priest or ww monk? Please change role, class, do what’s best for the metrics!
When people get pushed from their class/role due to unbalanced classes do people get demotivated to play the game at all.
Take balance druid as example, you push max in a burst with Cleve and get 35-50k dmg and then a survival hunter Cleve with 100+k dmg with two buttons, this make the person that play balance feel less valuable and it leave a bad taste in the mouth!
If you do want more people to enjoy endgame do you need to balance both the classes and content so only skill matters.
every spec should be comparable at equal skill level and should pull ahead by about 5-10% on their niche (massive aoe pull, 2t cleave, st, etc etc) but not 30% +
WoWlogs are bias, as its 100 percentile runs are based on recorded player reports and not a AI simulating the best dps then comparing player dps to it.
This means if all the high players are spamming the same speccs… and then people vastly less skilled play the ones underneath they arent on far rankings to be compared.
You see every specc in the game being used in +25 runs and timing them. Ive seen arcane magez top meters.
They are comparable, the issue is, everyone follows WoWlogs as if its a science and its really not
imagon in games as elderscroll online meta sifts every 3rd month so every 3rd month u have to reroll and refarm gear for the new meta some times the class changes are so massive u have to relearn hole class also …
The issue is that while everybody is capable of doing 25s some have it easier than others .
U have seen arcane mage top meters, he needs to know what he is doing, ins and outs, and whatnot . Meanwhile evrry other lock or surv hunt can do the same .
Im not saying others toping meters arent skilled or something , but the class inbalance is real, amd just because X can do Y doesnt mean its alright .
That may be so sometimes! But most people get mad due to extreme differences in dmg output. Say you play arcane mage and play that spec flawless and proudly do 40k aoe in a aoe Cleve, and then the survival hunter comes and press two buttons and do 100k+ dps, does this feel good?
I don’t have the answers and nor should I (I’m not dev)!
I do point at two extreme values and not just those classes. I’m happy for both destro and survival hunter.
But they should use minimum effort to make sure that the game is fun and balanced for all their gamers!
And ofc should I say “fix blizzard” when it is a obviously big issue that a majority experience!
well yes, different speccs have different skil curves, thats susposed to be the way it is realistically, thats a option u as a player make.
its to widen accessibility to the mode effectively. u will always have FoTMs. thats nature. however. any long term main who stuck by his class, will simply be more reliable over the head of a FoTM reroller.
Everyone (including the devs) will have their own unique takes on what a solution would be. A lot of the time it can be fixed by simply spell/ability tuning.
Same, I’m happy for those who main either spec because they’re not usually the most sought after specs for content unless the only lock you can get is a Destro for the lock rocks.
They should however if many people abandon a spec it can leave very little room for Blizzard to get the amount of data they need to balance things between all specs. Fun shouldn’t always be based on the numbers you can see on details for dps/hps etc but then that is just a perspective that some players have.
Simply just saying that isn’t constructive and that was my point.
Majority doesnt have this issue. You can do +15 and atlest normal and heroic raids. With any spec and class and nobady ever forces you to swap its just made up issue by community.
Majority have balance problem. Even blizzard admitted that they did both destro and survival much more OP then they intended. It has literally been a massive discussion the whole SL!
I did point out many thing in my thread. I can’t come with solutions for everything, I can just point out how it feels!
Endgame is not only +30’s. It influences everyone who is doing anything personal progression. That also means normal raids and below +10 keys. Allthough that content is easier to overgear, and you overcome difficulties with more gear. Still the meta specs have an easier time to progress (which also directly means higher loot).
Obviously you also made a strong exageration since there are specs not even able to do +30’s at all. Considering the best player in the world not playing endgame since it is not +30 is a bit… strange.
