Class balance in endgame

Well I am getting declined to 25/26 on the daily on keys that I have done on Fortified so idk, I am also playing a shaman and I am really close to going Resto just because the group leader who is btw 22 key peak would rather take a subpar fotm reroller than someone who has invested time in elemental. It really started hitting me recently how many opportunities I am missing by not playing meta, it feels like the game fostered an environment that discourages dps players from playing anything outside of it.

there is never been a balance in different classes in any mmo the difference between WOW and other similar games is the utility the lower dps classes have, here in Wow that is wat is missing if my class and any other class is lower on dps fine then give us better utility to make up for that.

“But as soon that you hit max level in WoW and want to try endgame does the meta wall hit people”

Biggest nonsense ever. Ofcourse there are meta slaves, but 90% of the groups isn’t.
People have to start understanding being a dps with you just don’t get invited because there are people with more gear and score queuing aswell and Groupleaders tend to take their safest path to victory.

Extremely high content it will get different, but definitely not “the moment you hit max level”

and then we have tanks that are dog. Not everyone is playing op dk with 99% cd uptime and can solo a +32 boss and mythic raid bosses.

Thurimar, this is why M+ and other similar arcade modes with low margin of error are not a good fit for this game. Modes like this are for more constrained games where player expression doesn’t matter.

Sure, similar problems have always existed in the game, but not on this level.

Another issue is people’s increased reliance on pugging. You DO NOT have these issues in organized groups and guilds. Pugging has its own meta, where the player is simply irrelevant. You exist as a tool to pump numbers and who you are as a person is irrelevant. You are disposable and if you don’t pump the numbers, or if you aren’t the utility that’s needed, you will simply be passed over.

And this will continue to degenerate with time - pugging will become more and more restrictive to new players as metas get optimized.

Of course, the greatest solution to all such problems is to design the game in a way that encourages people to socialize and they see pugs as the secondary mode of engaging, but Blizzard is dead set on making the game rely more on pugs.

And if it relies more on pugs, the game should be made much, much more casual. It can still be good and fun, but modes like M+ shouldn’t exist in a pug environment.

any tank can tank +20 . and anyone claiming otherwise is just stupid.

play with guild dont pug and then there are 0 problems

m+ are extremly causal .

if you are a bit worse at game dont push to +15 - accept that +7 or +10 is your limit and play there.

it is no different then some people raiding just lfr or normal because hc is to hard for them .

and then with time and GV rewards and vp upgrades maybe you will do mode +2 or +3 harder.

i honestly dont understand why eveyrone thinks that others own them playing with them in +15 or invtiing them to +15 or being willing to carry them in +15.

+10 is perfeckly good game mode too.

The problem is that meta trickles down. People who struggle with +7s look to get the most meta classes into their group, thinking that will help them. So they go on wowhead or warcraftlogs and check the rankings to see what specs are the most busted.

So even in these lower keys if you’re playing an off-meta spec, you are already at a disadvantage when it comes to being invited into groups. Run your own key is always a valid advice, but what if you got Grimrail Depot and you HATE running it? You need to get into someone else’s higher key in order to be able to reroll yours.

Back in BFA, I had to argue with a whole lot of mid players who thought +10 tyrannical was harder than +10 fortified. They see top players say “tyrannical is harder than fortified”, not realizing this only refers to super high keys, where the affix literally stops you from progressing your key. On lower keys, tyrannical has always been easier. It even still is, and there are mid players who think it’s harder.

M+ is definitely not hard content, however that doesn’t make it casual content. If Blizzard needs to have an infinitely grindable pve endgame, they need to reconsider their approach.

M+ is quite nice when you have an organized group to run dungeons with. It’s absolute misery when you have to pug, or even worse - when you’re trying to get in a group. It stinks.

Blizzard can either rework it, make it much, much more casual to the point where spec discrimination doesn’t make sense anymore, make the mode about simple blasting. Or they should make organized groups the preferred way of play.

Organized groups currently are the preferred way of play, and everyone complaining about M+ is simply playing it wrong by using the party finder window.

wonders why u can easily play a non meta class and perform just as well…

use ur noggins peeps.

Shrine and Underrot pugs on Tyrannical though…

Even Atal last boss was basically a DPS suicide-fiesta. BFA honestly had a lot of nasty bosses on Tyrannical, and there was nothing you could do to save people.

I played mostly BdK in BFA though so it was always easy enough to deal with most Fort mechanics.

It obviously also depended a bit on the season. Like every season 1 per expansion is pretty hard. +10 provided also in s1 the highest reward. Not comparable with +10 in s4.

And why are they all playing the same specs again?

People just need to accept that the game will never be 100% balanced. Its probably impossible to do so, but it will probably be really boring. People tried doing that by giving every class basicly everything, and a lot of people complained that classes felt the same.

Just play whatever you like the most, or accept that you will probably need to change your class every patch or so.
