I think Dampen Magic and Amplify Magic has some nice strategical depth.
thorns
three talent trees for druids
old style talent trees (even if they only decide to go back to the cata system i can be ok with that one)
Infernals and/or Doomguards on my demo lock, also metamorphosis but i dont think demon hunters are giving that back.
Ideally alot of core abilities, shadow blades should be class wide. Killing spree should be default for outlaw, prep should be rogue wide same for poisons… dk presences, mage alter time, mage getting more than just one school of magic per spec. Exorcism, turn evil, auras. Give all utility back to classes which they had in MOP. Problem done.
I absolutely hated playing against teams with a druid in in rated PvP back then because of how skewed Symbiosis was in regards to the spells it gave. Resto druids with Ice Block and disc priest with Cyclone just weren’t fun to face. Meanwhile it gave mages healing touch and certain other specs also got something fairly useless in return.
Maybe it could work if they tweaked it a bit, especially in PvP combat.
Hey right back at you.
Class buff for all classes.
All the stolen things back
Also i want back the ability to choose My weapon like 2h frost dk and 2h enhancement shaman.
Classes currently are so bare bones that you feel more like playing a tic tac toe than rpg.
I imagine I would be in something of a minority but I would love to see hunters go back to using both ranged weapons and melee weapons.
Obviously I would like to see more player agenda in general but my hopes and dreams are less tied to class skills, but the weapons they’re able to use. Single minded fury and 2h enh shaman have been mentioned already.
But just for the cool factor it would be great to see reintroduction of throwing weapons, ranged weapons for warrior and rogue. Wands as a supporting weapon, not a replacement for their staff.
In my eyes it’s the players agenda that’s important, even if they’re not playing the optimal build they’re able to choose what they’re doing
I would be ecstatic if Paladin’s could get all of their Auras and Blessings back.
Bonus points if we get Exorcism back!
This! <3
I thought MoP did a great job in regards to stance dancing. It’s the one expansion I remember doing the most of it (mind, I did not play warrior in vanilla and only very little in TBC). I also agree that Heroic Strike was unique and fun. In WLK I remember spamming the ability all the time because rage generation was out of whack, but in theory it’s supposed to be a rage dump. Something you use when you generate more rage than you can get rid of. Like when you changed to zerker stance in MoP during a moment of AoE damage.
I remember playing a survival hunter in TBC (yes, I was one of the crazy ones), back when hunters had a deadzone akin to the Warrior’s charge ability. I loved the combination of deterrence → counterattack → run away → shoot. It always made me feel slick … I think the hand held crossbow modern survival hunters use is pretty neat but I kind of want them to have a real ranged weapon + a one-handed sidearm.
This truly is a class fantasy that doesn’t exist anymore. I hope they’ll bring it back, as unlikely as it is.
