I also use fade for dr and you can get dr from flash heal too. Still seem odd that so many hpriests use those and not the others. The keys also are pretty low for hpriests
Mix of copying someone who does need them and just wanting to feel safe when the spec doesn’t have many quality tools in its own kit.
I dont play priest. But if I had to make an educated guess, healers use tank trinkets to prevent 1-shots in really, really high keys. In DF it was a similar situation in S3.
However. It is often unnecessary bellow tittle range. But people copy paste things blindly. Which might be the reason you see it used in lower keys.
But I might be wrong. Which tank trinkets do you say HPriest use? Im curious about this as well.
But Palys have a 45 second cd if skilled.
There are two different tank trinkets that they use. You can check on raider io. The keys that they do aren’t that high in general, but highest for hpriests. 18s and 17s
Bomb suit is more popular than the other. It is easy to obtain with dinar atm.
I personally use Burin trinket, I find it helpful for myself and to use it on people in 14s now. And I use gallagio for healing cd
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/43?class=Priest&spec=Holy#
They dont all use the tank trinket though. Most of them use Mr. Pick-me-up and the Gellagio Bottled Service.
Maybe it has something to do with the comp? I dunno. But the tank trinket some use is a personal CD. Do HPriest lack good defensives? Maybe that is the reason.
Yea they do, so I wonder why the devs can’t buff it a bit for hpriests
I would say, from my PoV, the reason why DH is s popular on the low end of high keys is that it’s just more fun.
The jumping, the 60 yard charge, the demon fantasy, the ability animation and of course, negating knockbacks with glide.
The fun factor is lightyears ahead of bears, the second closest would be warrior, maybe.
Fantasy and gameplay are two very important reasons to play a specific class. Wont deny that.
But I still find it suspicious that 99% of players choose that 1 fantasy. It cant be coincidence that so many people like daemons. Nobody likes a bear, or an old fashioned orc with a shield?
There has to be some other reason.
If you know how to play it, i think ppala is so much fun. People say Ppalas have a “saviour complex” could be true ![]()
I love group utility, i just wish there was more. The most fun i had was when they over buffed word of glory with a talent and i could basically full heal a party member whenever i had spare holy power.
But the degenerates ruined it by playing no healer ![]()
My husband plays DH and has prot paladin and he says that it’s extreme disparity in survival even on lowish keys. And therefore unfun to play compared to DH.
I can feel the difference too as I have to basically babysit him on paladin, especially in some bosses
Yeah and it’s easier to pull too. Ppal is my favourite tank
This is kind of a deja-vu of S1 TWW. Where the moment PPaly dosent flop, the sheer amount of utility it has, both in CCing packs, gathering packs and group utility will make it an instant meta.
Thing is we cant have this ping-pong of meta all the time. The other tanks also deserve to shine. And I dont understand why the tank meta is always so stale for so many seasons in a row. Something weird is going on.
Does he run sentinel/Shield trinket? I find Ppala unplayable without unless you have a disco priest. Running the meta crit wings/crit book/seaforium pacemaker combo the top guys use without disco is just hell. But even then it’s not fun.
I switched to bear and with just ironfur and frenzied regen i can pull safer than the pala.
Nah i think you do. It’s as you said
Other tanks just don’t have useful utility. It’s at the design level. Numbers do matter but ppala is just intrinsically better, so is VDH
If all tanks did and took the same damage, it would be pally meta…which i suspect will happen after MDI.
But obviously the other consideration is VDH is better this season because of chains/silence sigil. Pally shines where there’s mobs that can’t be CC’d but you can just avengers shield them. Like Everbloom the mage area had pyromancers that were CC proof.
He uses mud trinket currently. I play hpriest and honestly, most tanks have problems with surviving, especially FL bosses.
I only did 12s on my pally but the only boss i thought hit hard was the 1st priory boss. I imagine it gets worse as you go up maybe?
Even worse is that you do the whole next room in 1 pull with bl. So scary as paladin. So i feel like i’m just trying to sit on any cd i can.
I noticed many tanks dying on Momma boss. Do you have any problems with that? He does kinda low keys on paladin, but says in that range it is a big difference with DH if they were same level…
I feel the same with many healers tbh. Rdruid, rshaman is way better than hpriest (can’t imagine how OP is disc…)
as i said, only did 12 flood on my pala. I don’t know if you consider that low or high. No that boss is fine, i guess its tanks that don’t understand the tankbuster is a dot and don’t prepare to have a dr for the duration? The ads do basically nothing, the aoe does little to a prot pala. Literally 1 dot is the whole fight for tanks lol.
But yeah DH is more rotational than purely CD. If you generate souls and spend them properly that would maybe be enough. Consuming souls gives you passive damage reduction, so you could probably even get away with no CD and just get 30-40% dr (depending on how many you consumed in X amount of seconds) passively. Other tanks you have to plan
Wish fireball damage got up.Almost seconds to throw a fire ball that does only 119k at my 640ilvl…
