With Serenity tank instantly jumps to full hp HP. if that fails guardian spirit triggers gives them a second life.
Serenity + GS = the real oh snap toolkit.
Disc needs prep. Holy needs 1 GCD.

Well you see, this really sucks cause the unspoken promise was that mistweaver did good damage. I could compete with tanks and out-DPS poor DPSers. You’re doing a blanket nerf, while we have a broken talent ( tea of plenty ) and an Unviable alternate node (rushing wind kick)
With this nerf, Rushing Wind Kick becomes completely unplayable in M+ as you’ve put all eggs in awakened jadefire.
It kills the fun when relegated to the #5 spot.

If you’re going to be that pedantic heals only buy time too. In your mythical situation yes, serenity is the better tool if the tank got to 10%. In reality, a PS on the tank at the appropriate time would have stopped them getting that low in the first place.
Regardless, you can’t just look at stuff in isolation, its part of a wider toolkit.

Heres a totally random log. They pressed sanctify 32 times and it did 5% of the their healing. The biggest crit was for less than 1/7th of a persons health pool. Awesome aoe heals there.
Interestingly the biggest serenity crit was 4.2M HP, hardly a lay on hands from 10%. That would have moved my tank up to 50% from 10%.

I like holy, I prefer holy, but its in a crap state atm. You’re basically just spamming flash heal and heal to get your holy words off CD. Disc is currently superior by a country mile. If you argue otherwise, well, you’re wrong and no amount of facts will bring you round.

Holys AoE toolkit looks different from Disc’s but to say it has no AoE healing is not true…

Yes, it does. This has been pointed out on the Priest section of the forum.
My priest with 644 ilvl.
Holy Flash Heal - 499.934
Disc Flash Heal - 553.026
Holy ORACLE Renew - 206.800 over 18.8 secs
Disc Renew - 268.209 over 19 secs
Mind you, Oracle has a talent called Preemptive Care that increases the duration of all Renews by 25%.
Also, Holy’s talent Prismatic Echoes increases the healing of Renew by 30%, this would put Holy’s Renew to 268.840. So Holy has to invest three talent points into Renew to match Disc’s untalented Renew.
And now also include the fact that Disc’s Renew is still significantly more useful because it applies Attonement.

Yeah in perfect scripted pulls with zero movement no CC and a ramp window gift wrapped by your tank and DPS. That’s not reality.
One mistimed Radiance = wasted throughput. penance has great burst but its single target unless you’re already fully ramped and spreading Atonement properly which you won’t be doing mid scramble when half your group is out of range or LoS behind pillars.
All that is not unique to DPriest. ALL healers benefit from all that.
I got CB totem, just to mention 1 thing that also requires all this:

Disc is a synergy spec. It needs time, setup, encounter predictability, teammates that play along.
Priests in general are always meta because of fortutude and PI. The only way to not have a meta priest (Holy, SP, or Disc) is if all 3 specs are garbage.
Because you are right in one thing, HPS wise DPriest is not the best healer. But that PI on the FMage and DuDu goes a long way.
