Have been unable to find a blue post regarding this, but my question is;
Could classic be a precursor to a new time line, new expansions going a different way with the story? - Keeping with the removal of flying mounts/lfg etc etc
There are no plans for this as of yet, but they did say they would listen to the fans’ opinions/whishes on this.
Who knows? I’d love it, but many (the #nochanges crowd) I guess would prefer to let Classic be Classic forever (perhaps restarting realms or phases to avoid stagnation). A compromise could be creating new realms (TBC or whatever) and allowing players to copy their toons there.
It would actually be interesting if they did. Especially since it would give a chance for things to shape up on how they originally envisioned them.
For example, the High Elves were meant to be on the Alliance side IN VANILLA, providing the typical fantasy elven mage most of all. It’s a shame they didn’t follow through and it’s one thing that people have lamented… since forever actually, considering that even during TBC the Horde didn’t like the belves being Horde to begin with.
Id absolutely love this in all honesty
I hope they take a risk and decide to go a different path story wise
even if it isn’t drastically changed it’ll add flavour
Kinda conflicted.
Whilst the idea of a whole new timeline is quite alluring, I also like the idea of them keeping the world itself as it is now, but adding bits and pieces to it. I’m thinking things like (holiday) events, filling up empty buildings, some small fun quests. So not major changes exactly, just minor ones to give the world a slow progression.
Though I’m also happy with classic staying as vanilla, that’s what I came for after all!
