I´m a long time wow player, one of those “silent ones”. Love the game and the lore, called it home since the beginning. I´m a father of 2, all pc gamers. Kids are old enough to play games like wow and was thinking to give them accounts so we could share adventures together in this mmo.
Did get back to Classic Era because to me it´s the best wow moment, I know it´s nostalgia. Did struggle but managed to get r14 on my warlock and now was focusing more on the pve part off the game. I couldn’t imagine the real state of the game; bots, hacking, scamming, gdkp. Someone was selling gear on world chat, did ask info about it: 70 euros to get gear from AQ40/Naxx. Chats are full of that crap.
Myself I have 2 accounts, with my kids that would make 4. I usually buy game time, that would make 103,92 euros every 60 days in a year its 623,52 euros. That´s not I could call a little.
Changes are coming to PvP, the “no changes” mentality is gone. It´s another era, players are different from when the game was new and it´s fine. PvE should also get some alterations, time to put LFD and LFR as in retail. That would make life for everyone much better, could give the big finger to all those gdkp scammers. Can´t understand how fresh 60s can have so much gold to buy AQ20 drops for 3k-4k gold. It´s not possible, only if they bot or buy gold. And you just stand there sleeping.

For me It´s enough. Imagine all the games I can buy in other platforms with 600 euros per year and have fun for a change. Going to be some hard days to take WoW out of my mind.
Time to find good priv and just try enjoy wow there.

On era only gdkp enjoyer and bots gonna stay. Well done
I tried to go back to Era Firemaw. Immediately on login in Kargath, I was ganked 5 times by a dwarf rogue in full Naxx BiS before I managed to teleport moonglade. Went to org. Chat full of carry runs and gdkps. Logged out and went back to Hydraxian Waterlord’s for HC. So much more chill.
Its funny how these Era enjoyers are against a fresh realm, no wonder i dont want to start again when i bought myself full t3 etc for 1000 €. Give fresh pls and ban bots from the beginning, era is a sinking ship
But the problem will not end on fresh serwer. Thats the problem. Fresh gonna be good for few months and than same story.
Point is clear era from that cancer. Because sooner or later you’ll get your naxx also here.
If they do nothing with bots than, they can open 10 new serwer its gonna be still cesspool like we have now.
Yes, but I have to say it’s also a community issue. A friend of mine is keen on getting me to reroll on era Firemaw. I haven’t seen as much GDKP and such on Pyrewood Village so I keep saying no.
Of course correlation doesn’t equal causation, but it seems to me that GDKP increases the amount of gold sellers, botters etc and if that theory is correct you’ll only migrate the issue to new realms and so on.
I used to play on a large famous one that closed down after a meeting with Blizzard and I can tell you that they had the same issues as people describe here. Gold sellers, bots and hackers were rampant, and there were even rumors of admins selling things under the table.
I started playing retail because the private servers turned themselves into pay to win, allowing the people to pay for items that were not available in the game, for instance Shadowmourne or items from bosses that were not implemented yet which of course made their implementation even more delayed since people were massively paying for the items.
This issue is a community issue, not a Blizzard one. WoW is no longer a game anymore.
This makes me even more sad. Because I came to WoW 5/6 years ago.
First was priv vanilla, then official wow classic.
I came from the best mass pvp mmo ever, Lineage2. Unfortunately that game died because of greedy developers, really bad updates that push the game more and more towards a p2w simulator.
Almost the entire community sticks to private servers, but even they are starting to become super P2W.
There was even a mafia that controlled the biggest private server, ruSSian of course xD So if you open a new server, they ddos you until you close the project or pay them.
That was the reason I came and started playing WoW.
So I’m even more disappointed that wow is starting to follow the same path.
I feel like I have walked this path before and I know where it ends.
you getting ganked right now by ppl in naxx gear will change to you getting ganked by people in mc gear. You will still be far behind and you will never be able to compete with people like me so fresh is not gonna fix any of your issues.
