Classic is endlessly more fun and better than retail

With retail you get 120 levels plus the post 120 content including new zones. You get the 1 to 60 content and TBC, Lich, Cata, Pandaria, WoD, Legion and BfA.

This is outdated content and unused. Nobody care about WoD garrisons, Pandaria daily, Legion raid, Lich King craft, or whatever. They only focus on the last extension because it’s what matter and where people are. If you want to meet people, you will find nobody in WoD or in TBC zone. You have to go in BFA zone.

You get to dual spec.

A good thing for sure. No one like the 50g respec price on Classic but no one will try to change it. It’s how the game is designed. At least, that charge some golds so you don’t stack infinite golds in your bag with inappropriate numbers like you can have in Retail.

A whole bag of new and interesting races.

How can you get interest of new Legion/BFA race lol ? Theses race are a joke, they have no big capital city like Blood elf and Draneï have. They have pre-requirements, it’s a pure joke. At this point, they should have added theses races as a reskin to the existing race.

I have no idea how many dungeons there are actually in the real game and all the various raids.

90% are useless like i said previously, this is unused content with no interests. Ok sure you can farm transmog, but no one care about that except the zoomers.

And not forgetting Battle Pets I love Battle Pets.

Sure, but ask Classic players, i can safely say 99% don’t give af about “Battle Pet” in a MMORPG.

Just bullt my Garrison and enjoying WoD on a level 91 character. I created just a few days ago.

Sure, if you discover something, you will enjoy it. Once you will start to get level 120, you will see this content is outdated and useless, and how can you enjoy being solo in a garrison ? You talk with your pets ? What are you doing lol ?

Man does levelling just zonk by, but then I can queue for dungeons while I quest and guarantee almost getting in one every five or so minutes. No problemo.

Same in Classic, i got instant dungeon with Global and Worldwide Channel. And this is not with random people who say nothing like a bot, this is with people that do the effort to make a group composition, their rules, and talk.

Mostly though its the new character styles and my beloved Blood Elf and as a mage not having to stop and drink all the time.

I agree, Blood Elf is <3. Can you tell me why you have mana as a Mage when you are always 100% mana ? So you can make foods & drink, but you don’t need to drink ? Strange game … I play mage in Classic, i need to drink, and everyone ask me for foods and drinks everyday that sold for some golds and i enjoy that. Mana is precious i don’t use all my spell to waste mana, and sometime i use lower rank.

I also get a fair sprinkling of spells from the getgo and can level pretty quick. I get all the extra flight paths, quest markers and LFG. No problem poppin a dungeon every five minutes no matter what the time of day.

Meanwhile, i have to take all flighpart by my self, i have only basic spell before level 20 but at least i can use all magic school as a Mage (Arcane, Frost and Fire), i have more spell than you, i’m slow, i don’t have quest markers, and i don’t have LFG. And i enjoy like never. 2 generation of gamers .

And there is Transmog so I can look magic all the time.

When i look to you, you are magic. When i look to all people in Retail, they are all magic. In Classic, when i look to someone, he’s crappy. But when i see someone is magic with a beautifull full set and lot of epics item, this is an insane moment. I don’t care of being magic if any random player can be magic with zero effort.

We get flying and cool account wide mounts and all your achievements to help along the way. For me I love archaeology and all that entails plus the chance to craft so much gear all the way to my Level 120.

I never used Archelogy in my Retail life, i like flying but it destroy World PvP and it’s always time-gate with stupid reputation system, and it destroy how people feel the world. Account wide mounts, i don’t care of that when there’s only ~20 mount in Classic. Achievements ? You mean “Ahead of the curve or you will get kicked !” ? And i don’t need a scoreboard to say “I have done that and i need to do that”, my magic gear speak for himself and i know what i have done, what i haven’t done. When i have done something, it’s done forever. On Retail, you are in endless void because it’s never done. For example, you will never get done with your Best-In-Slot gear, because of titanforge + 3rd stats + socket. Meanwhile, when i get an item, and it’s a best-in-slot, i’m done with that . Crafting gear ? You joking ? Lmao … go in Classic and you will know what “crafting” mean boy.

Me I’ll have my current World of Warcraft and not the ‘mini ingame’ that is Classic. And it will never be Vanilla… that boat sailed a long time ago and I said goodbye to that the minute I hit TBC. Always moving on and progressing in game.

I mean if you were to actually list all the content that is the current game against Classic it would be like plucking a feather from a chicken and handing it to me and saying that’s classic. Me I want the whole chicken m’kay.

So try a bit harder and list properly and if you struggle to find anything to do in the proper game just wait till you hit 60 and have to STOP. And here is the scoop… only two more years to TBC. I have said this before and I will say it again, they should cut all these Classic lovers adrift and leave them to live in their Classic and remove the current game from their tab. Sure you can have it back but maybe make it a new sub. Then you can decide which you want ti play.

You’re absolutely spot on, retail is by far the superior single player game for all the things you’ve listed, its just everyone here is after an mmo.

Here are my thoughts:

Retail:
Basically, collect your weekly mythic+ item from the chest, do 1 or maybe 2 Palace raids, then you log off for the rest of the week and then repeat after reset.

Classic:
It has given me an every-day smile after being reminded of how close to vanilla Classic is, and that old WoW is much more fun. There is so much you can do in the game, things which actually matters to your character and/or to someone else: The leveling journey, acquisition of gear, professions, raiding, PvP (world PvP, currently) and last but not least the social aspect. They are each a slice of the cake which makes Classic as good as it is.

Classic:

Basically, collect your weekly MC lockout by pugging, kill some scrubs in STV, do maybe 1-2 LBRS/UBRS runs to equip guildies then log off for the rest of the week and then repeat after reset.

Retail:

There is so much you can do in the game, things which actually matter to your character and/or to someone else: The War Campaign, aquisition of gear, transmog, raiding, mythic+, PvP and last but not least Battle Pets! They are each a slice of the cake which makes Retail as good as it is.
