Classic players are being asked if they want to merge classic with retail after MoP

I mean I don’t really have anything personally which has me like O.M.G i wanna be that guy, but those are my morales/stance and that would apply to more than just wow, frankly.

I mean no you’re right I won’t quit until the community I play with perishes unless I can sway majority to another game but my own solo play time is alot lower than it used to be.

I mean to be fair if they do merge us classic players should lose everything we got as it was so easy to get.

MC cleared by 24 players in green, i could on listing how easy raids and gearing was and is.
MsP took 33 mins to clear :grimacing:

Pretty nasty move. I dont care much anything in classic but if it would be possible to still gain the warlocks red scythe from mage tower I would like to try have it

Thing is, if that person werent playing classic himself, getting old rewards etc I would look at how he writes slightly different.
But since I know he do, him telling others to grow up because we gatekeep his rewards from retail feels odd.

And we all know classic can never be like old school vanilla thanks to people getting better at the game and just simming/maximizing everything. Just looking at how fast things get cleared these days is quite insane.

I just wish people stopped masking their intent behind dumb arguments.

There is a distinction between merging and transferring (the thing they asked in the survey).

I would highly doubt that the company that just said that they are NOT gonna add the MT appearances into retail, due to not wanting to minimize the achievement, goes and decides to add all the achievements from classic players, without prior communication, and against their prior statements (they said that retail and classic would NOT share rewards).

So yeah, even if they added a transfer option for those characters, I would expect it to be like MoP remix, “new” chars without anything that they achieved in classic.

  • should offer retail players the option to merge to classic

make it work both ways … at least then i can go get corrupted ashbringer and bring it back to retail

Since the default stance is that once the Classic run is finished, your realm will be closed, you didn’t actually lose anything.

I cant possibly see a better reason for me to quit other then this one, and its so crazy it never crossed my mind, the idea and the disrespect this represents is more then enough for me

I hope Blizzard eventually merges the collections between Retail and Classic servers. That would be a very reasonable and wonderful decision. No sarcasm.

If Blizzard do this it is a spit in the face for everyone that didn’t bother with classic because they said they wouldn’t do this to begin with. But it seems highly doubtful the two modes will be merged considering their recent statement about the mage tower.

That said, if theres a sudden influx of Corrupted Ashbringers and Atieshes just treat them like you do most of the people currently running around in their BMAH T3 sets. You scoff and then look down at them with pity for paying millions of gold pretending to be something they’re not. Bonus if you catch them lying about playing wow “their entire life” even though their first achievement dates 2016 or something :joy:

Hopefully they will clarify their intentions during gamescon.

they could also put the Class tmogs on the trading post

at least then i could buy the corrupted ashbringer

We collectors are a minority of the player base, and nobody listens to us, so I’m 100% sure these ding dongs will do it.

Atiesh and corrupted ashbringer shouldn’t even be out of the game.

Every other legendary weapon can be farmed and every other raid epic can be farmed as well.

The only reason they are even rare is cause they went out of the game before it was convenient to farm them for casual players.

In 2019, when Classic was released, I did play it, but then I quit because I didn’t want to invest time into a version of the game that would not benefit my retail account.
But if I knew they were going to merge at the end of, let’s say, MoP, I would definitely have played both versions of the game to grind stuff like Tier 3 for more characters or some unobtainable stuff like titles and Proto-Drakes etc.
So I hope if Blizzard will do this, they will start Classic from the beginning so even I can do it this time.

Let’s be real here, the MoP cloak questline or WoD legendary questline should never have been deleted from the game, but Blizzard did do it.
I don’t understand to this day why, because you have most of the legendary items in the game still obtainable, but these two are not.
And MoP cloak or WoD ring had interesting storylines it would enrich the world of Warcraft.

If they rly want to link rewards with retail they need to do an entirely new classic server which will be linked from the start. Not linking already existing ones to retail. I dont care if people will whine at me or say im “gatekeeping” the rewards from the ppl who played current classic in copium hope that it would be linked to retail later.

Make everyone play on equal footing from the very start. Not giving some players YEARS of headstart.

But im quite confident to say those servers have a high chance of becoming toxic.
Too many players wants things fast and with certain things being low drop chance, you have a chance of ppl ninja looting or whatever. For example ZG tiger.

Or make things obtainable through retail with nothing being locked. Even if that could end up making the game itself worse for the long run. But who knows.

who cares about that. just give people an option at the end of every classic expansion to merge to retail. They already have an option to merge your account to classic era at the end of vanilla so do the same with retail. if you want amani bear, grand marshall or w/e just do it on fresh classic and eventually merge to retail. Your idea is a bit childish tbh.

So you are saying everyone playing on equal footing in terms of rewards is childish. Interesting take.

“Only thing you lost is years, what do that even matter to you” is what I read from you.

I think if blizzard allowed you to farm stuff in classic fresh and then merge your character to retail - that alone would be huge. Gatekeeping people who already went through years of classic just because they’d get items before you did… ye that’s childish.

Sorry… not sorry, that I am gatekeeping then.

Its not even gatekeeping since the promise were, to the rest of us, that it would not happen. But if you want to be childish and ignorant, go ahead and be that.

Since if we are going with that kind of thinking, if you deny me a vendor where I can buy scarab lord and everything. It would be pretty childish of you to gatekeep it from me.
