I think classic raiding is underestimated from most f you here. Many say that classic raiding is like the LFR level. I’ve watched a stream for MC run with over 100,000 viewers, of course, it’s not difficult but it’s never like the LFR level, which you clear without preparation or knowledge and don’t take you a quarter of the time you need in MC, and of course the fight ends and you oom…
So please stop underestimating the classic raiding, and let everybody be happy for their run clears.
You just wait for the videos of trashwipes. May start to grab popcorn right now
Honestly the only ones that seem to posting about how easy it is are those that aren’t going to be doing it. Even if it easy, what does it matter if others are enjoying it.
There’s no way for them to be on LFR level. Though I doubt that even Naxx will be on mythic-level. I expect them to be on heroic level which is fine for me and main boss will be organizational one.
It’s hilarious when I see somebody complaining about how easy vanilla raids are, and they are posting it with a level 20ish character.
I would give them a Rubik’s cube saying it’s super easy to solve, because I saw hundreds of people solving it within seconds.
In Gehennas, we have a “hardcore raiders guild from retail” Who went to MC with 20 people.
45 minutes and they came out.
Of course Classic raids are easy, I mean it would be sad if retail mechanics would be easier than mechanics of a 15 years old game. Like how is that even a discussion, of course the first WoW raids have easy mechanics. By the way harder doesn’t mean more fun to everyone.
But still, I laugh when I see LFR heroes talking about how Classic raids are easy, meanwhile they haven’t even killed normal Azshara. I mean sure, Classic mechanics might be easy, maybe as easy as LFR, but most of the heroes wouldn’t even get to see Classic raids because they don’t have a button to queue for those. And to be fair LFR mechanics are piss easy anyway, it’s just that most of the people doing only LFR can’t be bothered with doing any mechanics, they’re just there for the free loot. I still have nightmares from LFR KJ to this day.
I think it’s equaly sad that many ppl thought it would be alot harder. Totally exluding all the changes to classes and itemization. The same goes for dungeons.
There is even a few who do it while juggling 3 cubes!
Crucible LFR is harder than Molten Core though.
I only did LFR a little bit when I tried the game in Legion but whatever that was, it wasnt raiding.
Molten Core is fun. Never was bored in it.
Mechanics wise it is LFR level. No need to feel offended by it. And I am not sure - perhaps LFR bosses have more abilities even.
Only difference is that YOU as player are on much weaker state versus incoming damage. Hence there’s 40 of you.
Nax is 1st raid that shouldn’t be compared to any form of LFR even mechanics wise. Or maybe it should, not done LFR in many years now. but once I did we wiped 10 times on Archimonde.
My guild aren’t hardcore raiders and already cleared MC/Ony and the general idea was LFR difficulty. If you set aside that the trash can cause wipes because it’s a little more sensitive than the generally irrelevant LFR trash, the raids are LFR level, in some cases you could say that LFR is tuned harder.
Certainly like Archimonde LFR before it was nerfed in WOD, much harder than MC… Harder than MC in Vanilla before all the patches nerfed it to oblivion even.
They cleared MC in 45mins with 20 people?
Do I misunderstand raids, because I always felt mechanics are to seperate bosses from eachother and to make them fun or interesting, not for difficulty. Whenever I see a hotfix to a raid, its to the damage:p
The reason I dont compare them is because the only socialising on LFR is people calling others trash, no one is there as an actual team to defeat the content, you are just teleported near to where the boss is etc
Well I like ‘dance’ bosses myself, with finesse and ballet. i think nax is 1st raid, where you dance and do fine moves. Out of all things I hate in BfA, I love raids because sometimes I just have to dance like a ballerina. In Classic raids are for me social gathering.
Ah. Well even then it’s more of a foxtrot rather than a waltz due to movement speed:P
I think the difficulty is fine. I personally dont mind the simple mechanics because when a raid leader is repeating them for the 20th time for one person im annoyed:P
(edit: did overtuned Lady Vashj and I dont know if thats as complicated as modern raids but I am almost put off by TBC now)
I take MC etc. as raids of their time. While I view them simplistic vs. i-.e. Mythic Eternal Palace (and whatnot), they (classic raids) are just right for the game they in. MC - its own odd way is one of my favourite wow memories and favourite wow places. I visited it in vanilla so many times - noty because I had to, but even when my own raid was raiding nax i returned there just to see Ragnaros as Ragnaros was my favourite NPC at time. His attitude, visuals - all that. Still love him for the fluff he has !
The WoW I love is the pre-cata world, I know it’s not the best for hardcore raiders but it’s the game I enjoy as someone who mostly raids for loot. If I had stuck around in MoP or WoD I may have been able to adjust to modern WoW but it’s just way too different too me.
I progressed Vashj at time and I recall her requiring plenty of coordination, good dps and healing. I do not have private server memories of her, so I maybe recalling wrong, but I think she was relative ‘dance’ friendly.
And nothing wrong in this. For me it has always been about boss kills. I’d probably raid naked if I could. But need gear for next boss, … most times.
Well yeah, I think Preach still says TBC was hard raid content and he is miles better than me PvE wise(barely a comparison really) but I still hate the idea of overtuning content because I don’t trust it at all.
I’m certain it would be tuned for the more hardcore rather than the fun of the average person.
