So now that so many people on the servers are level 60 it’s so lonely in the lower level zones (especially nightmarish for a priest like me!), it’s basically dead and finding people for a dungeon is a no go.
I really loved it when there were hundreds of people on the map, making parties everywhere and mini-wars happening (PVP in Hillsbrad was the beeeest).
And so I was wondering if the team would be considering doing a realm restart (like one PvP and one PvE one) every 6 months or something, to get that craze going again.
Yes, you are not but there are still many threads about it which you should have posted in. If you had followed the forum rules and searched you would have seen this.
That’s called FRESH and should happen somewhere after naxx. Still most people join an level on launch so some time thereafter leveling zones would be empty.
What could be interesting is making the content progression on FRESH much fastet - 2x quicket, 2x shorter raid resets and thus having a cycle of FRESH every year and not two. Some WoTLK pservers do that with great success. Thosr that want to level and do basic progression have a lot if other players while raiders can raid a lot. In the end toons from FRESH are merged to master realm and cycle continues.
I’m not exactly sure of what’s the point of leveling your char to 60 only to drop it like a sack of bones after a couple months since you dinged 60. I mean sure, Classic’s endgame is somewhat lacking (raids aren’t exactly great, and PvP is miserable with all the premades etc.), but I don’t see the appeal of the leveling experience either.
Don’t get me wrong - I do understand the allure of repeating the entire journey (i.e. leveling to 60 and going through all the phases etc.), even though I’d never do it for Vanilla at least. But the leveling is just part of the journey, isn’t it?
I’m not sure of why. Leveling for the most part is just one long grind - and especially on crowded servers it can be extremely frustrating until/unless you manage to get ahead of the “main wave” like I did after lvl 30 or so.
And MC is by far the worst raid in the game, so I’m not sure how it’s more enjoyable than something like AQ or Naxx.
There is nothing rational about it. The whole Classic shtick is mostly emotionally driven. People just wanna keep reliving the old days instead of moving on. Almost like Groundhog Day.
I mean, I can understand the whole “reliving” part, and leveling is part of the whole experience. I just don’t understand ppl who think that leveling is the only worthwhile experience, period. I personally enjoyed progressing on Twins and C’thun more than I enjoyed waiting 30 mins before I could kill Kreenig Snarlsnout for my Barrens quest.
I guess because thats the one big thing Classic does better than Retail? At least in some aspects. Retail has better Quest design sure, but Classic makes you feel more part of the world in some aspects.
Fresh realms would draw any new people who would instead roll on existing realms (and yes, we still do get new players, at least on the realm I’m in), so yeah I’d rather wait until Naxx is done before putting out fresh realms.
The OP sounds like he was asking exactly for that, and he’d not be the only one either on these boards. It’s a bad habit that has plagued pservers for years and made PvE progression a lot more painful than it otherwise would’ve been.
