What do you think? Full classic experience but with every class that is in retail now. 10/10 would replay.
Could be very interesting to level my monk in an authentic classic environment.
how can it be authentic if mechanics as dodge resist and such would just not exist? classes on retail are overloadet with utility/aoe for M+
It’s not classic is it with all the current classes.
Bad idea.
How would that be full classic experience?
The main Classic people aren’t going to want those classes in the game. Maybe if they made an entirely different iteration of Classic, but then it would just split the player base etc etc.
No thanks. Like classes as in Classic. Not new ones.
It would be “interesting” yet it would be easy as fack, healers would be irrelevant since so many of them have insane cds. Remember tranqulity we have now ? yeah it is now raid wide and applies a hot, easy 50-100k hps on hard fights like mimiron HM.
So on and so on.
So yeah i think many people wont really like to attempt it, cause it requires a ton of balancing to make it “balanced” in terms of everything not being a pushover, even HM Ulduar.
The main reason why I don’t like retail is the classes and their gameplay, so no. I’d rather play Retail content with Classic classes (with Classic abilities, talents, itemization etc) than the other way around.
No it wont be interesting. People play classic because it is “classic”
No, honestly, I’d prefer classic to stay classic. One of the reasons I like it is the design of the old game. I really appreciate that every skill that is cast actually matters, in retail one of my biggest issues is in fact the fact that your skills by themselves do nothing in comparison. Frostbolts are nothing but a skill that procs other skills in retail, in classic they hit for crazy amounts while also having procs like brainfreeze(was that the name? The passive that allowed free fireball/frostfire bolt in wrath). It just felt more impactful. If anything I really want classes in retail that feel like it, but that won’t work with the current design the same way your idea won’t work with the classic design
I highly doubt there would be a significant increase. Maybe a small hype for some.
Classic should forever be without the new classes, this is what makes it classic, otherwise we would have a retail-ish influence trying to adapt to an environment its not design for, this thought dreads me (I play both DF and Era)
I would say the same goes for any classic+ idea, only the original classes should be a part of it imo.
The classes introduced I later expansions won’t have class quests. And where will their starting zone be?
The old classes with some balance changes -yes but no to the modern classes.
No thanks mate.
Classic Era is the present and future. Leave the “changes” and “modifications”. Take a rest from the rat race.
Embrace the Era of Classic Era.
Why anyone would play the retail wow is a mysterie to me. Sht looks like one of them chinese mobile games.
Well, the people in the comments may have been a bit rude, but yeah they are sadly true. Retail classes can’t work in classic. They are based on completely different game design, system, programming, stats. In classic it’s all about reaching some “caps” in ur gear like hit cap or avoidance/def cap (just as examples) and everything is based on a flat %base (classic items gives u flat 1 or 2% of a stat, rather than a certain stat “rate”). In retail all those cap and stats do not exists (for example the avoidance cap was removed in wotlk exactly to make DK tanking possible, since they had no shield). Also retail classes are all about mobility (except ret pallies kek) and AoE dps/heal, while classic is the exact opposite.
Tho would that be an interesting idea for a complete new release of WoW (not SoM or classic +, but actually a WoW 2.0 rebuild from 0 with modern technolog)? Yes imo. But that would simply be something else. Not classic, not retail, not even wow. Just a (interesting and maybe beautifull) complete new game
Wish I could upvote this comment with 1k likes. Can’t agree more with u
I do play retail and have fun in PvP with my irl buddies, thats about it though.
I also play Era, because the first version of WoW is the best, but that does not mean one cannot have fun in the current expansion:)
I think you would struggle to downscale the retail classes to 60 & make them function.
However I think most people that want to stick to classic era would prefer not to add the retail classes in the first place. We’re on classic era for a reason, the 8 classes we have start with strong class identity and that’s lost when you get to the 12 at retail.
You mean worse then it’s splitting now xD?.
Yeah, splitting the players seems a tactics atm
