Classic WoW token

Hello, since theres so many people that pay their sub with in game gold by trading with some1 that has the gold in retail (for WoW token) I wonder why isnt there a possibility to have that option directly on classic?

I Never played any expansion past TBC so i’m a bit ignorant as to how the whole token thing works, and perhaps missing the point why people are so fiercly against it in classic.

As far as i understood in retail you can pay with real money and get a tradeable item called token which is basicaly a 30day sub, that can be traded to other players that will purchase it with in game gold.

So basically the person that used real money is actually just buying in game gold. While I believe this is the reason that people are against it in Classic (and if so i agree), then why not only the option to be able only to purchase a sub with gold, not allowing “pay to win” by purchasing them with real money. Just in game money

I might be missing something, because it seems benign to me. After looking up i see the price of a token is 20euros, so it makes no sense to buy tokens to pay ur own subscription, so the people buying tokens do it simply to get quicker gold. Then the ones able to farm that gold that wanna be spared from using real money have their sub paid for by other people that are willing to spend money and need their gold, but on that 1-1 transaction theres like 8 euros diference so thats how blizzard makes sure they dont lose money in the process?

My question is, adding only a “Purchased with gold” token for wow classic (with no “purchased with money” token) be financially unviable to blizzard and thats why it isnt done? And is the “purchased with money” token the thing people hate so much about it, or also the “purchased with gold” one?

Thanks

To buy a token with gold someone would have to sell one. That’s how tokens work.

Since they weren’t in Vanilla they aren’t now. Bringing them in would be an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Its a pay to win micro transaction that ruins any sense of fun and accomplishment of herbing/mining/skinning and gold farming and would absolutely increase botting.
Suddenly everyone with a bot on a second account can play for free.

Getting rare BoE drops is just a little money in value instead of some serious enjoyement getting something valuable in a game.

I can’t think of anything worse than a token in Classic.

Well that was the core of what I didnt understand, i assumed one could buy a token for game money which wouldnt necessarly have to be bought by some1 else with real money. If that’s the case then i understand the system now, basically real money would always have to be flowing on the market.

Yeah in that case I understand why people don’t want it, I don’t want it either then. Just the idea of paying my sub with farmed gold seemed appealing at first sight
