Due to IRL issues, I was not able to copy my characters to Classic ERA before TBC. My characters were advanced to WOTLK in their BWL gear as it was then when I stopped. If I login on WOTLK, I see my characters untouched from BWL phase in classic.
Now I am able to pay for this service. The characters are there. I do not want to play on WOTLK, but on Classic ERA. You just have to move it from WOTLK to CLASSIC ERA.
Please, make magic again…bring my characters back home…
Its funny how the people without foresight, who wanted the falsely so called “expansions” back, ruined classic, went into the expansions, realized that WoW “expansions” are terrible games, and now come back asking to clone characters.
maybe foresight is the wrong word, since we already knew what TBC and Wrath are.
WoW “expansions” didnt expand upon the game, they took away from it more than they added. Flying destroyed the open world, similar to what the chronoboon did in Era. Faction identity died with Paladins on the Horde and Shamans on the Alliance. The same thing can be said about pushing both factions in the same cities. Outlands 7 ugly zones KILLED Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, a terrible trade. The same goes for Northrend.
WoW “expansions” simply are terrible games compared to the original.
I keep getting other story from people. They simply weren’t around at the time there was the opportunity to clone the Vanilla characters so that they can be kept in Vanilla. Those characters never even left Azeroth. I think many people simply thought that Classic Era as we know it now will be natural development of things without even paying extra money to keep it that way. And it really make sense, I mean why would I have to pay extra money to keep Vanilla character in Vanilla? That thing should have worked exactly the other way around. What would the famous ice cream speech on BlizzCon be about otherwise?
Even untouched by you after the move to WOTLK, those characters are no longer the characters you played before BC classic was released. There are a lot of changes applied to them under the hood than just the equipment they wear(skill trees etc. etc.). If you did not clone the chars while they still were ERA chars, they are gone.
I suggest you just start a new character on ERA. Leveling is fun, loads of people of all levels all around the game to group with.
I was not around. I stopped playing during BWL. I didnt go play TBC or WOTLK. When I returned however with time to play again, it was already WOTLK and when re-subscribed, I found my characters in WOTLK…
You didn’t pay for it, only if you wanted your character in both ERA and TBC was when you paid. You could choose Era or TBC for free. Eventually if you didn’t choose you get moved to Wrath, it was over a year you had to choose.
Most people don’t realise the Era realms were the new realms and the natural progression was to TBC then Wrath, like it was back in the 2000s.
Make a new character. It will be fast to lvling, because there are lot of low lvl lokkibg for a dungeons and you can buy some boost. There are some of bwl+mc pug raids. You can get your equipment quickly. Also every day zg+aq20 pugs. Cheer on
I do understand the fealing, I so wish that I had payed for cloning Cupid back when the servers swapped over, but I now have a new adventure ahead of me from scrath and I can just say that its always good to do it to build new bonds.
You are funny. That happened when vanilla transitioned to tbc already. People did lend gold from friends then had thousands on x char, copied it to era and just gave the gold back to their friends. Damage was done long ago. There is people with multiple goldcaps who just copied gold over.
I call bs, the cloning service was nothing but an arbitrary money grab decision by Blizzard and I call even bigger BS on those characters are no longer available. They’re all sitting on a backup of the server when it moved from era to tbc, Blizz just be bad/sad for their greed and laziness.
