The buff is so minimal it doesn’t change the experience of trying to farm for a mount at all.
Still feels like zero progress is being made, because… zero progress is being made upon a failure, which is the expected outcome after dozens of runs. It’s like a billionaire getting another 5 billion dollars. Sounds like a lot, but doesn’t change the experience of the person at all.
Sad, I was looking forward to this, but all it gave me is a night completely wasted with nothing to show for.
False. People are participating because they announced it (sounded way better than it actually is), and we were trying it out.
It’s just like when they supposedly increased the chance of the MoP world boss drops from… idk, 0.01% to 0.02%. Initially there were more people farming, but after a couple days, it was the same as before the buff. It wasn’t a substantial difference, and people realized this after a short while.
If you bothered to read further than the first word of my comment, you’d know that I did admit people are participating. But not because the event is working, but because Blizzard just announced it, and people are trying out if it works or not, which takes time.
Agreed, the goal isn’t exactly generosity but rather strategic engagement without saturation. The 5% bump looks generous at a glance, but it’s small enough that most people won’t see a difference. Especially with ultra-low drop rates.
I’ve done a few roads so far and managed to grab the raptor from ZG and some spy thing from undermine rare (black floaty thing) and got my mythic 2H sword from SOD. Overall I’m pleased, if not for the sheer amount of loot dropping to finish or collect transmogs
I totally agree with this. If this was the baseline, and not a weird FOMO scheme that feels bad if you don’t get what you target, it might actually be beneficial to the game, generating more engagement and less frustration.
Quick update, after about 30 or so runs, I did get something, Deathcharger’s Reins (one of the only ones not to have a daily / weekly lockout), so yay I guess?
It does make a huge difference. I’ve seen people in my guild all day today, getting mounts, which they’ve been farming or just never bothered to farm.
I can understand your reason for thinking this, but I believe this is a bad idea. Having this kind of event, which may repeat on a yearly basis, is better. Remember, Blizzard is a company that needs to make money, so this will drive some people to buy a new month to try and get those mounts and may even get them back into the game.
Not sure why they stated “All pre-dragonflight dungeons and raids” while in reality “Collectors’ bounty” affecting only LEGACY LOOT system, which means if you’re lvl70 - you won’t have benefits of this buff in Shadowlands content, you need to be lvl71+ for legacy loot activation.
Blizzard mentioned that this buff does not apply to timewalking, but there is no mentions about doing old dungeons by lowlvl?
For example, if you run Stormwind Stockade dungeon as lvl10, you will have 50% to get one piece of gear per boss, clearly “Collector’s bounty” buff is not applying to this.
But if you enter this dungeon as highlevel character and legacy loot system will be activated - you will get 4 items per boss.
Maybe I missed something somewhere, but I didn’t see any mention of legacy loot in Blizzard’s posts.
It is a bit misleading, because legacy raids/dungeons is not the same thing as legacy loot system.
Im getting some “I didnt get everything i want on the first day of a month long event” vibes here. Relax, tomorrow is another day. Nobody promised you, you would get everything your heart desires, just that the chances would be better.
